Basal Body Thermometer Suggestion?

I am looking to purchase a reliable Basal Body Thermometer (BBT) for charting my cycle. I would like a thermometer that is reliable/accurate, digital, backlit, and beeps (but not horribly loud). I currently use a Vicks digital thermometer and the beep is incredibly loud. My doctor recommended I get a BBT thermometer for accuracy reasons. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help!

We used just a regular thermometer and had success in plotting a pretty good chart. But we eventually went through in vitro anyway for many other reasons. But here's some good tips: keep the therometer right next to your bed and take your temp BEFORE you even move, think, or breath. As soon as you get up, all bets are off. Secondly, it has to be at exactly the SAME time every morning. So set your alarm.

I have the purple B-D one from Wal-mart. I just put my finger over the little sound hole on the back--works wonderfully!

WalGreens has one for $9.99 I found to be reliable.

My husband and I tried 3 bbts after our Vick's thermometer broke, but liked the Vick's one the best. We ended up buying a second Vick's one after all. I just put my hand over the top so the beeping wouldn't be so loud.

I have the BD Digital Basal Thermometer, which is specifically designed for this purpose and recommended by the book I use, Taking Charge of your Fertility. It's great, perfect in every way for this. It even keeps the temperature in its memory so that you don't have to record it until later in the day. I like that! Here's the link - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WKW376. Look around online for the best deal.

Not sure about all those options.

Great site, lots of great info!

I used a pretty generic one from Walgreen's or Target for many years, and found it worked really well. As long as it's a digital one, it doesn't specifically have to be a BBT thermometer - that was more important back in the day when we had to use the "old school" glass and mercury ones.
