I can give the name of a guy, but my real advice is DON'T DO IT! Having Been There Done That and Got the Battle Wounds to prove it (all b/c my husband's business failed), I can tell you there are MANY repercussions of filing bankruptcy that a bankruptcy lawyer will NEVER tell you about. Feel free to contact me privately if you want to swap stories.

I can't refer you to a good one but I can tell you who NOT to use! Don't use Mark Rubin and Associates in Dallas. Good luck with your search.

I have referred family & friends to Nancy Ridgway; her office is near 635 and Abrams. You can find her in the yellow pages or go to the State Bar of Texas web site. let me know if you can't find her number and I will look it up.

We used Michael Wiss in Dallas off Greenvilee -635 when we filed our chapter 13 almost 5 years ago.
We had initially hired another attorney and paid her ...for nothing. she couldnt handle the compleity of our business bankruptcy. We had no personal debt really, we lost it all in 9-11. So we found Michal who is AWESOME! I cant say enough good about him. He relly helped us out and got things back on track and even got the court to dismiss $59,000 in penalties & interest to the IRS.

Bankruptcy is HARD, dont fool yourself into thinking its aquick fix. Especially now that you have to be approved for specual circumstances to file a chpater 7. Chapter 13 i sthe only way to go. But we owe 15 more payments and we will be free!

The Chapter 13 office also has special programs to help you rebuild your credit and buy a home if you need to after you finish your plan.
