I have been having back pain for more than a yr now. It gets bad at night time and my back gets very stiff. It all over the back - upper, middle and lower back. I saw chiropractor for 3 months, it didn't help. I have been taking pain killers but that makes me very drowsy.

I am overweight. I lost and gained back 20 pounds last year. I did blood work, but other than high cholestrol nothing was found.

So What Happened?

Thanks a lot for overwhelming response. I had MRI done and nothing came out in that as well. I have flat feet and I wear flat shoes all days. I will look into getting some nice shoes with support, start supplements, try to lose some weight. Hopefully that would help.

Ask your doc to give you an mri... that's how I discovered my problems that I'm currently dealing with. The MRI is the starting point if there is something going on in there.

I suffered from lower back pain and hip pain for what seemed like forever. Tylenol, etc.. prescription pain pills nothing was touching it. My best friend was over for the weekend and saw me hobbling around in the morning. She gave me a handful of her glucosamine and then sent me a care package. I swear....... two weeks of taking it religiously, and mixing the powder in my water bottle too - and one day I was ....."hey - my back doesn't hurt". I try to take it regularly - but when I get lazy and busy and forget after a week or two I notice the familiar ache again.....take the glucosamine and in a couple of days Viola! good as a 46 year old body can feel anymore.
(My friend is an Amway dealer - so it was Amway products that she sent me)

Okay... I have a suggestion...
I have a friend that has Scoliosis. She had, neck/shoulder/back/hip/leg and knee pain and stiffness.
She even had custom made shoes made for herself and did the Chiropractor thing too.

THEN, she made an investment in a new bed.
The bed brand is "Aireloom" .
These beds are made with Organic cotton and everything.
Here is the link, for Aireloom:
http://www.aireloom.com/home.html

THIS IS the ONLY thing, that got RID, of ALL her body pains.
Completely.
She got her bed from a local furniture store in our city.
She... now has NO pain, whatsoever...even though she still of course, has her Scoliosis.
She never realized... what a GOOD bed, can do for the body.
It is the BEST "investment" she ever made... for herself/her health. And she swears by this bed.

all the best,
Susan

Have you had xray, MRI etc? Did anything show up? How old are your kiddos? When mine was a newborn--and beyond---I had constant back pain that worsened every time I had to carry her around, which was most of the day. I carried her on one side more than the other and basically everything in my body shifted in that direction to compensate. I know you've already seen a chiropractor, but many use different techniques that just work better for some problems. If you want to give another chiro a shot, look online for Manning Wellness Clinic in D.. The doctor is Dr. Jeff Manning. Check out the reviews--that's what I use when I'm checking out new doctors, dentists etc. In my opinion, he's one of the best and won't make promises that he can fix the world. He sees every patient himself, yet you never feel like he's in a rush to move you out. Whatever you decide, hope somethng finally works! Good luck.

When I gain weight my back is the first red flag that I am overweight. Just ten lbs over and my back kills me. If you think that is the reason for the pain do what you need to do to shed the pounds and keep them off. You will feel so much better, not just in your back. You can't take pain killers the rest of your life. It is so much harder for me to lose weight now at 42 and keeping it off is even harder because I don't like to exercise but living with back pain is worse.
Another thing to consider is the shoes you are wearing. A long time ago I found that certain shoes killed my back. I was teaching and on my feet all day. They were flats with no cushion, and no support. I thought they were cute and had several pairs in different colors. I invested in some better shoes and it helped immensely.

I used to have back pain, and in fact had two spinal injections for them. They wore off in six months, and the pain returned. I started taking this liquid nutrition almost three years ago, and I never did have to go back for that 3rd injection. It doesn't hurt anymore. I can tell you many other people that have had relief, one being my friend who does Zumba and tap with me now. It is liquid, is proven to be 97% absorbable and as the body gets the nurtition needed, it just starts healing itself. It goes after the inflammation, and a side effect of inflammation in the body is weight gain and disease. I learned that from the many doctors on this product. Since there is a 30 day empty bottle guarantee, it is risk free. Please write and let me tell you how you can get it. It comes to your door by UPS. Also, in two weeks, they are coming out with a natural sleep aid with one ounce of this nutrition in it. They couldn't put daily dose of two ounces in the sleep aid, for it would give you energy. You need sleep, and 70% studies on MSN last week told me don't sleep well, resulting also in weight gain and diseases. I have pre ordered it for my husband and me so we can get it sooner than those waiting. Those having tried it, say that you can tell in one night the difference a great sleep makes. They say they wake up alert and eager to start the day, and they don't get that 2:00 slump. Here is my email if I can be of help to you. Trust me, I understand back pain. What a relief to have not had it in three years! ____@____.com A.

Hi Mom
Like I said with the other poster about back pain, I view pain in holistic terms.I believe that pain stems from an emotion.
I see an osteopath for the pain which I find great.
As for the emotional side,I 'll fill you in just in case you want to look at it from a different angle.
Lower back pain is linked to money stresses.
Middle linked to carrying some guilt.
Shoulders, feeling like you have too much responsibility in life.
Left side is the past and male energy.
Right side is future and female energy
Try to focus on these separately and let go of any stresses that you might have.
Best of luck

How old is your mattress? Take a look at that.

Then learn how to move properly to give your back support. Do stretches every day and core strengthening exercises. I am a Shaklee Independent Distributor. We have a weight loss program if you are interested. Certain herbs and vitamins can help as well.

Alot of times pain can be due to being overweight. I have heard alot of people who say their pain disappeared once they lost the weight. Maybe stretching exercises would help the pain. I also suggest joining a gym that has cardio in the water. It is very gentle on your joints and would be very theraputic as well as beneficial for your health.

I had similar problems for quite a long time. They said it was all muscular. I tried traditional physical therapy and then I tried aqua therapy, which was great and something I continue on my own - walking in the water, doing weights in the water, etc. It builds your muscles without the pain. I would have your doc refer you to a center that does aqua therapy for an evaluation. I used the Finley Ewing Center at Presbyterian D. - it was excellent. Good luck!
