Bachelorette Party - Belton,MO
I am the maid of honor in my sisters wedding. We have talked about having a bachelorette party for her. When her and I discussed it, she said she didn't want the typical, go to bars and get trashed. I am ok with that! I have no idea what I should do! I am looking for any suggestions to make this day special for her. I have tried to look on the internet but I have not found anything that sounds like a good idea. Anyone have some fun ideas? Any help is very much appreciated!! Thank you all in advance!!

For mine, we went to the Ritz Carlton the day before the wedding (when all my out of town girlfriends had arrived) and had afternoon tea. They have beautiful service (includes champagne) and my Mom, MIL and Grandma all came, too. It was very elegant, but not too expensive ($20 a piece).

-A spa day is nice ( you might call around and see if they do group packages at a place).. Some packages include lunch at the spa~
- Girls slumber party.... All the girls can dress up in Pj's and you can can rent movies, do facial on each other, order pizzas, just be silly like when you were young.

How about a spa date or manicure, followed by a cook-out? I also saw a great article about having a scavenger hunt for a bachelorette party. Another thing: my friends & I had a blast at one of those places where you paint your own plaster item, they fire it & you have a terrific ceramic creation (the one I know is called "plaster fun time". ALhough that's local to me, maybe there are similar places near you.). We could bring our own bottle of wine & had a blast.
Good for you -- and the bride -- for wanting something fun that isn't about getting trashed or being gross.
Have a great time!

I REFUSED to have a typical one. We went out to dinner and had a few drinks and called it a night.
No reason to go out and act like animals before getting married. I NEVER understood that mentality. I think going out with a fake veil is doing shots makes a mockery out of marriage.
I'd ask her what SHE would like to do and then you make the arrangements.

Spa theme - You can go somewhere or have someone come over for mani/pedi/massage. Dinner and some drinks could follow.
Movie night - A total chic-flick marathon with some of her favorite romantic comedies.
Pleasure party - someone comes to the house with all sorts of sex toys and books. This is racy but with good friend, adults only, it can be a lot of fun.

If it's in the budget and there's a location near you, go to Cirque De Soleil. Amazing!
Or, how about a going to a concert or jazz club or other similar thing together?
Roadtrip to a spa?
Hiking/canoeing/rock climbing (I don't know what sort of outdoor features are in your area, but?)

I was the same way and my sister (MOH) and I decided a on a girls night to Medival Manner. It was a blast and my mom joined us too, because it wasn't a raunchy night out.

You have received so many great ideas. I don't even know if mine can compare.
Have a party and on the invitations ask each of the women to either bring a recipe they love and/or some words of encouragement or wisdom (you may want to supply index cards with the invitations or at the party itself as an actiivity for the words of encouragement.) Decorate a index card box for the recipies and the words of encouragement and wisdom.
This is what was done for my wedding and I still read the words and feel all the love and warmth of all those years of wisdom from the women in my life. It was beautiful.
