When we have teenagers we pay between 5-6 an hour. That was for 2 kids. Now we have an infant too.. I don't think I would not leave her with a teenager yet though.

We have had some college students and we pay them $9-$10 hour.

We pay $8-10/hr for off-duty teachers from our children's preschool to babysit for us. They charged the same for one child as they are for watching two now.

We pay $5 per hour for one child - and she is 19 months old.

Great question! What did you find out? Thanks - L.

Hi. If you mean babysitting for a few hours - a teenager, I heard the going rate is anywhere from $5, 6 or $7 an hour. You might also ask them what they would like to get. If you mean daycare, I've heard of $25 per day, $30 per day, and $40 per day, depending on the day care. Hope this helps.

I'm looking for a daycare provider in the Brookfield area because I live in Brookfield. I would also like to know the rates also, I will be having a baby in July and will need a babysitter in September. I called the daycare centers and they are outragous per week $265.00 average.

Thank you for your help.

The going rate in our area is $10/hour. Quite the increase from the $1/hour I got for babysitting!

This seems to be the rate no matter the number of kids or the age of the sitter. I pay the 16 year old across the street the same thing as a college student.

We pay 11 dollars an hour for our five month old son. I know that my sister in law in Glenview pays 13/hour for three boys.

Good Luck!
