Babysitting Prices

I am thinking of offering to watch a friends kids when she has to go back to work. They are 3 1/2years and a 1year old (both still in diapers). She will be going back part time so probably 2 days a week. I do not have a clue how much babysitting is going for so I do not want to offend her but I also could use the extra income as well. Basically, I am looking for a fair price for both of us. If you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi A., My daycare charges $25 per day per child. This includes everything but diapers. Hope this helps and good luck!

I used to watch a friend's little boy and I charged $20, but should have charged at least $25. If you want to make a deal with your friend, you could give her a little break and make it $45 for the 2 kids. Also, don't forget to lay down some ground rules for payment times, whether it be daily, once a week, bi-weekly or whatever. I also suggest taking payment in advance. Hope this helps

I use an in-home babysitter and she charges right around $60 a day for two. I have a three year old and a one year old. I think that's a pretty fair price.

Hi Mama! I am a childcare provider in Tempe. My rates for full time care are between $25-30 a day. For siblings I charge between $40-$50 day (depends on the hours). Hope this helps!

My son has a respite provider who also does hab thru an agency. She gets $10.00/hour. But when I need someone to watch my 1 year old too, then it's under the table for $5.00/hr. But I got pretty luck this first time for 7 hours at $20.00. So, not too bad considering he slept for the last 3 hours before I got home.
