Baby Wipes and the Adverse Affects on My Hands

Looking for a solution for my thumb and index finger that seem to crack from baby wet wipes. I wash my hands after every change and put lotion on but my thumb is now cracked and bleeding. HELP- what do others do? or is this just my own personal reaction to wipes- I have tried three different kinds but no luck.

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
I made my own babywipes. Drop me a note if you'd like me to send you the recipe.

There are a couple of things you can do - make your own wipes , make sure you are washing with a product that is natural and therefore contains no petrochemicals and use a lotion or cream without any chemicals. I'd recommend Daisy Blue Naturals mango skin therapy cream.

Yes i am a consultant but I became one because the cracks and bleeding went away once i switched to their products! Take a look at http://www.4074.daisybluenaturals.com and let me know if I can help in any way.

Hey S. (it's ange)-Try the Lansinoh (sp?) wipes, you can buy them at Target. They're awesome-gentle on you and the baby. I used them for Grace & Lyla and they rarely ever had diaper rash if at all-and they are very gentle on your skin too!

I take a roll of paper towels new and soak them good the whole roll still rolled up and put them in a big ziplock bag and pull one out when i need to change a diaper my son was very alergic to every wipe made. my husband also would cut the roll in half and i would do the same only stick it in a clean washed out old tub of wipes and stick it thru the hole and save the other half for next time hope this helps the Dr. also said i could mix up warm water and a couple drops of baby wash J&J then soak the paper towels hope this helps
