Baby Waking up Too Early

I have a 8 month old really active baby girl, she takes 2 naps a day, one around 9.30 am for about 1.5 hours and an afternoon nap at about 2.30 until 4.00 pm. She normally goes to bed at 8.00 pm and sleep throught the night but is up most mornings by 6.00 am 6.30 am. Any ideas, advices on how to make her sleep a bit longer?

What can I do next?

You can try some of the advice you got but do know that some kids are just early risers. My son has always been a great sleeper with great naps and night sleep but he always woke around 6/6:30 AM. He would also go through stretches of waking up earlier but then would go back to the normal 6ish time. FINALLY, now that he is almost 2, he is sleeping later to about 7 AM. We even got a 9AM one day!!! But try out some solutions and hopefully they will work.

She's not up very long during the day. I would cut her morning nap and put her afternoon nape between 12-1:00. Then see how long she is able to stay awake after the nap. The later you put her to sleep the later she will wake in the morning. Dont put her to bed too late then it will become a habit and it will be harder to change once she gets older.

The only way to get her to sleep later would be to put her to bed later in the evening and adjust her naps accordingly. You're already having her sleep for a 10 - 10 1/2 hour stretch at night, anything longer would be expecting too much.

If she doesnt wake up crying maybe try and leave her in there. My 6 month old gets up early sometimes and if we leave her alone most times she will fall back asleep on her own.

Honestly, looking at the schedule you posted looks pretty normal and typical. I used Dr. Marc Weissbluth's Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child as my guide for my child's sleep patterns, and your baby's schedule looks pretty close to what's in the book.

If you wanted to try to get her to sleep longer, and this will seem counterintuitive, put her to bed a little earlier. However, at her age getting up at 6:30 in the morning seems pretty typical and normal.

How late would you want her to sleep? Is it interferring with your work schedule? The only reason I ask is because she's sleeping great and getting enough sleep during the day and at night. I know how hard it is to work FT and have to take care of the little ones. I have to get both my 2.5 y/o and my 6 month off to daycare in the AM along with getting myself pulled together. The only thing you can TRY to do is to put her to bed later (as another poster mentioned). But, I'd be hesitant to change what seems to be a pretty good schedule. If you do, I'd do it slowly like 15 minutes at a time.

My 6 month old wakes up pretty early and we just let him play in his crib for awhile. Actually my 2.5 yr old does this in his bed, too.

I agree with M R's post... you can try to put your baby to bed a little earlier and see if she will sleep longer. But she seems right on track... I would hesitate to try to change her sleep schedule. Whenever my baby would not get enough sleep during the day and be overtired, he always woke up EARLIER (5:00ish). I would not cut out a nap, she is too young and still needs two naps.
My baby wakes up usually between 6 to 7 also but I just leave him in the crib and get him around 7am. He plays fine until I do.

I'd consider yourself lucky to have her sleep that much. Could you try keeping her up a little longer in the evening. Or possibly cut her second nap a half hour short....I don't know, her schedule seems pretty good to mess with though.

Sleep patterns sounds good to me.

Maybe try to get rid of the morning nap or make the naps an half an hour shorter.
