Baby Video Monitor

Summer Infant - fabulous. The one that is out now is white - ours is grey and blue. I prefer the grey & blue one b/c the screen is bigger. The white one is still great (my brother & sister in law have that one) but I like the bigger screen. If you want the bigger one, try calling the company and see if you can buy it directly from them. Their number is 800-268-6237 . They have a great replacement policy. We broke the handheld part and they replaced it for 1/2 price. We just sent them the broken one and they sent us a new one. It was wonderful. Great customer service.

We have a Summer Infant brand monitor and really like it. We get some interference but usually just have to move it a little in either direction and it goes away - this is especially true near our computers and other wireless networks. But, we quickly learned where we got it and rarely have to deal with it anymore. I was totally against video montiors at first considering them and extravagance, but now I don't know how we would live without ours.

Hey! I second the girl who loves her Summer infant monitor--that thing rocks! I couldn't live without it. Great reception, it has night vision, good sound. Plus, you can hook it up to your TV and watch your baby in all its glory to your heart's content :)

I got the video monitor from babies r us and it works wonderful!! The first one we got the monitor went out but we just took it back and the replaced it. Other than that...its great!!!!!!

We LOVE our Summer Infant Handheld Video Monitor. It is totally worth the price. We've used it nonstop for 19+ months now, and will continue to use it through baby #2, whenever that may be. In my experience, the range is fabulous, and I love that it has the power-saver function that turns off the screen after it has been on for a while (maybe 30sec?) if you turn on the screen while it is unplugged from the cord. This is especially handy when the grandparents are visiting and just want to watch our son sleep all evening long... I have to say the customer service with this company is excellent. The casing for the antenna on our monitor broke (because it got jammed one too many times in a bag in our car for trips to see family), but the antenna still works just fine, so I called to see if they could send me a replacement casing. They sent me an entirely new camera! So, now we have 2 cameras to use, and the monitor itself has 2 channels, so we have no need to buy a second monitor whenever we need two. No questions asked.

We bought ours from babies r us 3 1/2 years ago - the Summer Infant Day and Night Dual Scanning Video Monitor - and we LOVE it. It was for our first child and we still use it to this day! I will say that you cannot use both cameras if the rooms that you are monitoring are next to one another, but other than that it has been great! It is by far the best monitor we have found. We bought the Philips monitor with DECT technology for our youngest son so that we can monitor the two simultaneously. I was surprised to see that the video monitor received such bad reviews. Now ours isn't color, it is the black and white - they didn't have the color one several years ago. Good luck with your search - I feel so reassured to be able to see my kiddos on the monitor!

A., I wanted a video monitor so bad! I bought 3 and tried them all out and they did not work in my house. Make sure to keep the receipts and try them in your home first. I know that wireless networks, etc. can interrupt the connection. I had one that would work everywhere in the house except when the monitor was by my bedside...which is where I wanted to keep it.

I would have kept trying some out but we are planning on moving soon so I didn't want to find one that worked in this house and have to go through the same thing trying to find one that works for the next one.

I have one that is not a video monitor by Summer and it is a great monitor! I had never really heard of the brand summer, but it is a great product!

Babies R US was really good at taking monitors back with receipts to people that are trying some out in their home...now if I can only get a babies r us closer to me in McKinney! Ugh!
