Baby's 1St B-day Party

My daughter is turning one in may and her theme will be finding nemo. Does anyone have ideas on using baby food jars as favors. I started collecting them and now i have no idea what to do with them.

sand art? A suggestion for a finding nemo game... put a little paper nemo (I used a sticker) inside of a blue baloon. Have a whole bunch of blue baloons and these are the ocean and have the kids pop the baloons to "Find nemo" We did this and the kids loved it.

Fill them with colored sand and sea shells or little star fish since you are having a finding nemo theme. Or maybe you could put live fish in the jars....Just a thought.

I got this idea yesterday from Laurie in my parents group: "A great craft idea is to use them to make snow globes. Rough up the inside of the lid with sandpaper, epoxy figurines to lid, add distilled water and tsp glycerin (I got mine at Rainbow Grocery), glitter, and seal it up (with epoxy, probably, although I never got around to that part). I also painted the lids before the project to make them look nicer."

you could have all kinds of fun with the jars. you could fill them with colored water for the tables and fill them with something ( be creative) and tie balloons to them for center pieces on your tables. you could also fill them with a cute photo of the baby and a letter from baby to guests thanking them for coming all rolled up tied with ribbon and put in the jars that have been painted with glass paint with her b-day on it and her name or anything else you would want to paint on it. just have fun with it and get online and start looking for ideas, you'd be suprised how many ideas you can find online. I took empty baby jars for a baby shower and put the game paper and pens and candy in it after i painted them blue for a boy and wrote the due date and parents names on them. it was fun. use ribbons and fun things to decorate them.

It depends on how creative you can be! You could make little make believe (Fake) fishbowls out of them by using blue watercolor and craft items. Glue sand or something on the bottom, make sure you use waterfriendly things (plastic fish maybe from a necklace craft kit or something) and seal it after you are done with hot glue so it cant be opened. Just an idea....Good Luck!

Hi there, theres a website for m&ms (I assume m&ms.com?) and theres a part of the site where you can order your own personalized m&ms, maybe that would be a cute idea for something you could put in the baby food jars. I did that for my daughters first bday with the colors I chose and I put her name on some and her birthday on the other color, it was quite cute!!

You can glue finding Nemo plastic figureens to the inside of the lids - the fill the jars with sparkles and colored water - then glue the lids on - makes cute snow globes....

Or glue the charectars on the tops of the lids and fill them with gummy fish or sharks....

You could print a baby picture or a 1yr picture of her and alaminate them and type her name and birthday and glue them on like lables and fill them with jelly beans or something colorfull. Ooh, first birthday...how exciting! Have a blast. The only thing I wish I did differently at my sons was enjoy myself a little more. It will be great whatever you decide. Cute idea.

Maybe if you are having a lot of babies you could put baby treats - like the gerber puffs in there. Or if it most older kids you could put m and m's in there?
Just a thought.
