Baby Slings and Diaper Bags

Hi Ladies!
I am pregnant with my 2nd child and am looking for input on a sling for the new baby. I used a Moby Wrap with my first, and while I liked it, it is soo big and long and therefore bulky that I thought I might ask all of you about slings (rather than wraps) that you have liked and or disliked.
Also, I have hated both diaper bags we have and am thinking of actually making one modeled after a very handy, but too small, purse I have. But I am open to suggestions about 2 kids diaper bags (they will be 2 years apart, and hopefully my daughter will be potty trained), as well as ideas about where to get the necessities ("laminated" fabric, etc) of making one.
Thank you!

What can I do next?

Hello. I love my Moby wrap much more than a peanut sling that I have (I bought both and used the peanut sling once). If you want to purchase a used peanut sling (all black) for a good price, message me!

Also- I hated most diaper bags on the market- but found an awesome one at Naka in Ferndale. They are locally made by CheekyBummBags. They have a website www.cheekybummbags.com

HI K.
I loved my maya wrap sling. The laminated fabric is called PUL you'll need to order it on line. I don't remember where I got mine however. You could probably find a fab one on etsy.com

I am in love with the SkipHop duo diaper bag or any of the Skip Hop diaper bags. I love the way they hang on the back of my stroller and the look of them. You can get them at Buy Buy Baby. A new baby store that just opened up near lakeside. I am not sure if Babies R Us carries them, but they do have a website. I think www.skiphop.com
Good luck with your search!
Oh, my husband liked this diaper bag as well because it can be carried as a messenger type bag and did not look girlie!

I used a mei tei baby carrier with my second child and I loved it. My son was extremely secure and comfortable, and it's good to use till they are 30 lbs (my husband tested it out on my daughter (who was 3 at the time) prior to our sons arrival, and it held up very well.
As for diaper bags...I have a columbia vertical glide which I've had for 7 months...the longest I've ever managed to keep one without it breaking! I like it. Big enough for day to day short trips, but I have a bigger one for multiple day excursions.

Ergo baby carrier....and the infant insert!!!

I loved my sling that a friend made for me.... it was simply a rectangle of heavy fabric with four long straps connected, 1 - at each corner.... not sure if there is a name for this type of sling, but it worked well for us.

I have a Hotsling that I used when they were smaller, and I use a Maya Wrap to carry them on my hip when they get bigger (like over 20 lb.). Love 'em both!
