Hello ladies! I need to plan a baby shower for my sister and would like it to have a theme of some kind. She planned a nursery rhyme themed shower for me and it was adorable! Any ideas? She is having a girl, but I would like to stay away from the princess type themes! Thanks and God Bless!

What can I do next?

Great ideas ladies, thanks! We went with a fall/apple theme. The idea being, the baby will be the apple of our eyes! I made the invitations myself and they are adorable! We plan on decorating with apples and other early fall stuff as well as using apples for much of our menu! It should work well! Thanks again and God Bless!

My girlfriend did a sand/beach theme for her baby shower and it was adorable! She ordered real sandcastle somewhere on the internet and used them as centerpieces which later served as prizes. Beach balls, rubber duckies, sea horses, etc. So much fun and summer toys should be cheap before too much longer too!

Either I'd go with a nursery theme she's picked out or just go to a party supply store and look at what they have that catches your eye. Sugar and spice is one idea.

Hi A.,
This is such an exciting time for you and your sister!
My first thought as I read your note was....pretty flowers and soft bunnies. That would be easy, fun and adorable!
My second thought was....classic Winnie the Pooh....you can get all those wonderful goodies at Sears, Baby'R'Us and Target.
Just a couple of ideas from a New Grandma ;-)
Have a Blessed Day

A Time Theme is a different idea. Plan things around different times of the day. Things she may be doing with the baby. If you get really into it - on the invitations you could assign people a time of the day to correlate their present to. We did it for a friend of mine and had a really good time.
Decorations were along the line of Hickory Dickory Doc... it was something different, she had 3 showers.

Have a great time - I've learned that most people just love the thought, idea, time, and effort you put in for them!

no theme idea here, but a game. Announce in your invitation that there will be a raffle for a $25 (or however much you want) for people that bring in an extra package of daipers... it stocks the mom up on daipers and it's a good baby shower prize! Some people love the idea nad some people hate it... BUT it's optional.

My friend planned a garden theme for my shower. Flowers everywhere! (in pots that were used as prizes) She had a garden trowel and shovel at each place setting with a ribon on it and flower seeds in cute little packets for the favors and made little chocolate flower suckers with "ready to bloom" or something as cute written on them. Good Luck!Have fun! L. B.

I attended a baby shower with an "animal" theme. it was kind of cute...we even played a game where the hostess pinned something on our back...then we were told that we were either a mommy or a baby animal of some type, and just asking yes or no questions we had to find our other part.

I have a friend that does Dr. Suess themes. One fish, two fish, or the last one was to bring a book and they used Horton as the rhythme for the invitations. It was really cute. I don't remember it but it went something like, welcome to the shower of Mommy and Baby who. And in the poem they asked you to bring a book so that Mommy and Baby who could go on adventures with the new books they received. If you can rhythme you got make your own easy. Good luck

Well, this what we are doing for my baby shower.
The theme is names. We aren't announcing the name until she's born. If you're planning To do that, then could be names. Name decorations with question marks, name games, keeping track of peoples names, that kind of thing.
