Baby Shower Registry Question...
Hi,
I registered for my baby shower and I put some necessity clothing down. Pull over undershirts, bodysuits, side-snap undershirts, kimonos/gowns, footed-sleepers, etc.
My question is:
What sizes should I request?
People have told me that almost everyone will by clothing regardless of if I have it on my list or not, but they told me that most everyone gets infant size.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
T.
So What Happened?™
Thanks for the advice everyone. I did register just a little bit of clothing in different sizes. Mostly necessities. This way they have an idea of what I like and need.

I recommend getting few 0-3 and 3-6 month items initially because you don't know how quickly the baby will outgrow it. Keep the receipts and don't open everything at once. You will likely not use 1/2 of the clothes you get and could always exchange them for diapers which you will need.

ask for no bigger than 6 mos. babies clothes are outgrown fast, and are very seasonal. so if people buy you 6-12 (or bigger) mos sized stuff now, all they can buy is summer stuff, but it will be winter by the time your baby gets into that size, and the clothes will be useless to you. so don't jump too far ahead, or you'll be doing a lot of trips to the store to return stuff. Also, not sure where you are registered, but if it's BabiesRus, make sure you get receipts from people. They have recently stopped accepting returns without receipts, it's a real pain in the neck, as you may end up with a bunch of ugly/misfit clothes you don't need, but can't return.
Definately register for sleep-sacks (sleeveless or with long sleeves), those are great! Register for diapers, it's one thing you will NEVER have enough of.
good luck!

You may also want to register for some swaddle blankets by Kiddopotomous. They are the only good brand I think. There was no way my son stayed in a swaddle I tried to do with receiving blankets. As for sizes you can register for onesies in newborn, 1-3, and also 3-6. Same thing for clothes. I would mostly register for the first two since if people get 3-6 month clothes then its usually outfits they pick out rather than neccesities like gowns, feetie pjs, ect. Don't neglect newborn stuff because unless you have a pretty big baby, the 0-3 will be enormous. My son wore the newborn stuff for almost a month and he was 6 lbs, 14 ounces and 18 1/2 inches when he was born. If you get too much of something just return it. Babies r us does not penalize you for a lack of receipt. The only thing they do is that if you return without a receipt, you have to do your shopping that day and can not just get a store credit and come back. That's the way they do it here in NJ, not sure about your store's policy.

If you want it on your registry, then I would put size 3m up to 18 or 24m. We didn't register for any clothes, but got a lot. It was great to have a stock of bigger clothes. When our daughter started growing out of one size, I had a pile of the next size to take out and wash. We received clothes up to 24m and we really appreciated it.
Good luck.

I would say 3-6 months. You will most likely get all sizes, 3-6 months is safe, just in case the baby is alittle big for newborn clothing.
