Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of places to throw a baby shower for around 40 people that doesnt cost an arm and a leg! We are looking at April, so I think outside venues are out. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!!

Thank you,
A.

Try looking into community centers or American Legions/VFW Halls. They aren't that expensive and holds lots of people.

Hey A.,
What about the log cabin in downtown Bartlett. I think they only charge like $60 for a 4 hour rental. I would look into that.

A., church's usually have a hall / meeting place of some sort. Ask at your church if you can use that space. Or for an outside of your church space. Mikes Place in North Aurora has a great back room. It will easily seat 40 people. You will have to check and see if its available. But we had my sons 16th birthday party there. Had appetizers and pizza and pop and it was about $250. I think we had aprox 45 people. Ask for Jerry he is the owner. Tell him I sent you. also a good place to check is Luigi's in Aurora on prairie. they have a bunch of great rooms set up with tables and you can decorate however you want. have done both wedding and baby showers there. i think he charges about $50 for theuse of the room on top of whatever you order. Another place we have had showers is at the place that used to be Andrianna's but is now Prisco next door. You may have a good chance there. Good luck.

My friends threw a shower for me at the Spaghetti Warehouse on 59 & Ogden in Aurora. I think it was about $11/person and it was very nice.

What about a church hall, or an association club house/rec center. If you know anyone who is a veteran, they may be able to get you a deal on a VFW hall.

Hi, My name is B. C. and I live in Plano. Fox Valley Older Adult Services in Sandwich across from the Fairgrounds is a really nice place, and they are fairly reasonable if you live in this area. You might also want to try the Yorkville or Plano American Legion.

I am a 53 year old stay at home Grandma that babysits her grandchildren while my son and his wife work. I have lived in Plano for 48 years. I love scrapbooking, crocheting, card stamping, etc

Depending on where you live, I recently had my shower at the Romeoville Rec center and it was very nice. I think it was about twenty or twenty-five dollars and hour. YOu should check it out if it isnt too far from you.

Not sure what location/area you are planning to throw a baby shower at. We just had our twin sons christening on Sunday at Village Links Golf Course in Glen Ellyn. They were reasonable $13.35 pp (meal, tax,&grat). The room is really nice & we also played a DVD montage of the kids on the XL Tv screen in the room. Their is plenty of room for gifts & everyone raved on how excellent the food was.

1. Try to use someone's clubhouse. They are usually only a small amount. Mine is $50.
2. Any local restaurant with a private room should be affordable.
3. A VFW hall, they just provide the room but do snacks and punch with a cake and you will be fine!

FYI - someone reccommended Spaghetti Warehouse - they are out of business. (Maybe their rates were too low) :)

Best of luck, and remember the mom & dad to be will appreciate whatever you can do, so don't worry! A couple fun games will be more memorable than the location and the food!

I'm not too sure what the cost would be... but The Turf Room in North Aurora has a really cool atmosphere and private curtained off areas. Their Sunday brunch price for adults is $20/person. It is fantastic!-prime rib; waffle station;fruit and cheese, etc. Good Luck!

Hi A.,

I am not sure where you live, but Long Island Suund in Aurora has an awesome brunch on Sundays, and all you pay for is the brunch per person, they allow you to use one of their private rooms for free. They have totally remodeled and everything is new and clean. I attended a baby shower there this time last year and it was great.

Good luck!
