Baby Shower Gift Ideas
Hey Moms! I am invited to a baby shower for one of my co-workers. This is baby #2, but she didn't have a shower with the first one so there are still some things that she needs. I want to be creative, but I'm running out of time to think of an idea on my own. Does anyone have a cute but useful gift idea? I was thinking of looking for a great diaper bag that is functional for two kids (a 2yr old and a newborn using bottles). Does anyone know of a great diaper bag? Your help is greatly appreciated!

I loved a backpack style diaper bag that had some compartments for everything including clothing changes and toys. It doesn't sound like this is in your budget, but maybe if a few people wanted to chip in, my favorite present was housekeeping. Of course, I'm not a picky housekeeper, so having someone come in and see my mess and clean it did not bother me, I did not "clean" before the housekeeper came. I also loved the people who gave me gift certificates for my local pizza place and Chinese takeout for the hectic nights.

Hi K.,
I often give a great children's book or books that are for a little older child so both kids can enjoy them. Mom will be pleased to have a new book to entertain her older child while feeding her newborn. I have lots of reviews for great books that build language as well as book lists by age on my website at www.playonwords.com. As a speech language pathologist, I provide suggestions for parents. Good luck!

Has she registered? Then it would be really easy. There is a really nice white one at either Lands End or L.L. Bean that I have been eyeing myself. What is your budget? Is the shower a suprise? WHy not ask her what she hopes for? I highly reccomnend the Oceanwonders aquarium. It was not useful in the beginning, but it has been a lifesaver.

I am a mom of three and my first two are 2 years apart. The diaper bag that worked best for me was the backpack style. it was a lot easier to have the backpack on my back out of the way while trying to deal with holding a toddlers hand and an infant seat.

I just got the greatest diaper bag! I did lots of research b/c I have twins and needed a good one. The thing I was looking for most was a a bag that could hold 2 bottles. The bag I found is a messenger bag, holds two bottles in insulated zippers on each side, has tons of pockets inside and out. It's great!! Now I can take one bag(don't need a seperate bottle bag) and it's sooo easy to carry while tending to 2 kids. I got mine at Babies R Us. It's by California Innovations and it's the Hobo bag. Hope this helps.

I always say the same thing when somebody wants a gift idea for a shower- A Leapfrog Learn and Groove Table! It's the best thing anyone got us for our shower, and I ALWAYS get it for my friends. And every baby loves it. Starting around 5 months or so, all the way up until 2-3 years old.
Not a diaper bag, I know. But still a great gift! :)

not cute, but definitely useful - batteries! get the long sleeves of them at bjs, a very appreciated gift, especially with 2 kids and a house full of new toys from the holidays...
