Baby Shower Games.

I was asked to do games for a baby shower for a lady in our church. (she doesn't have family near, so our church is throwing her a shower) Anyways i am sick of the same old bingo baby shower games. Does anyone have any good suggestions that i could use that would kinda be a change of pace.
Thank you in advance for your help. :)

What can I do next?

We go a baby doll and newborn baby clothes and then timed those who wnated to participate to see how fast they could dress the baby! Very fun seeing as some women weren't grandmas yet and it had been a long time since they dressed a baby.

At my baby shower, we played a game where each woman was assigned a famous mom. The name of the mom was taped to her back and it was only through asking questions of other guests were you able to make guesses. The names included Queen E., madonna, ect. We loved the game. Good Luck.

The first one depends on the crowd, but I took notes about what my sister-in-law said when she opened her presents and then compiled all of them as the things she said to my brother on the night the baby was conceived, "I can't believe how big it is." or "My boobs keep getting in the way." or 'oooh, It's what I've always wanted."

It's good for laughs, but obviously could offend some people:)

Another one is where two people hold up a clothes line and you give the mother to be a fake phone and baby doll to hold and then see how fast she can hang a bunch of baby clothes up on the clothesline. It's funny to watch b/c it can be really hard for them to get the hang of the multi-tasking, but it shows them what they'll be doing once the baby comes!

Hi J.,
I must admit that I am not a huge fan of these games, but there is one that stands out in my mind. Guess how big. You pass around rolls of toilet paper and the guests rip off the number of squares they think it will take to wrap around the mom to be.
Have fun

I have a GREAT one. Buy a package of baby diapers...you will need 6-8 of them for the game and the rest can go to the new mom.

With a Sharpie marker, write a number on the outside of each diaper (Diaper #1, Diaper #2, etc). Just before game time, you will place a different bite-size candy bar into each diaper (be creative!!). Then, microwave each diaper for about 20-30 seconds to melt the candy.

Pass each diaper around, and guests must "Guess the Poopie". They are permitted to smell AND taste in order to guess.....but you will be amazed how many people will not dare taste it, even though they KNOW it's candy! It creates alot of laughs and great pictures too!!!

Some good ones are York Peppermint Patty, Baby Ruth, Reese's PB Cup, Butterfinger, etc.

I'm not a big fan of games, but I consented to two at my shower. The first was similar to the guess how big game someone else mentioned, but we used string. The second was a guess who game. Everyone brought a baby picture of themselves and we collected and numbered them. then, everyone had to guess who was who and, well, you get it. I like the birthdate 50/50 idea! Especially if she doesn't have family, I'm sure she could use all the help she can get.

I recently attended the baby shower of my step-sister-in-law. The games that I remember from the shower were a word scramble of baby terms, guessing how big around she was, guessing the due date, guessing the name she picked, etc.

Also, all the guests were given a plastic baby charm on a piece of yarn to make a necklace. If someone caught me saying the word "baby" then I had to give that person my charm necklace. The person who ended up with the most necklaces at the end of the party got a gift. Believe me, it is a lot harder than you may think to not say the word "baby" at a baby shower.

Good Luck with the party.

Hello! For my SIL's shower a group (family & her co-workers) made a bunch of theme baskets- when everyone arrived, they got 10 (I think) tickets (those raffle type) to put in a bag, for the basket they wanted to win. After we all ate & she opened her gifts, they drew a ticket from the bags to see who won- it was a fun & diffent idea- it involved everyone & a great icebreaker, too. Another cute idea, they hung a clothes line around the room & hung the gifted baby clothes on it. As far as items for the theme baskets- tis the season for yard sales- you can usually find items in good shape for great prices for in them :) Have fun planning!!
Have a Great Day!!
