I dont know if this has been said yet but at my baby shower my aunt had been to a baby shower that had a game called the price is right. It was really fun at my shower. what she did was buy about 5-7 baby products (lotions, pacifiers, nipples, baby food, etc.) She had marked the price she paid so only she could see it then pulled names of everyone at the shower (everyone put their name on an envelope for their address) 4 of em at a time and they had to guess the price of the product and whoever was closest got a prize!!! hope this helps!

One of my favorites is to melt various small candy bars on diapers and have the guests sniff them and guess what candy bar it is (a different candy bar goes in each diaper). It's hilarious! Looks like they're smelling poop :)

I had a friend who had a baby shower last winter. They had a game that was a memory game. Two of the organizers there were holding a cord with 10 baby items attached with a clip (like a baby sock, a pacifier, ointment, diaper, etc). We had to take a look at the items for 30 seconds, then they would take the items away and we would have to try to list all the items on a paper. The one who had remembered the most items got to take home a prize (I think it was a candle).

-Everyone gets a clothespin. If someone says baby, whoever catches them saying 'baby' gets to take their clothespin. At the end of the shower, the one with the most clothespins gets a prize.

-Remove labels from jars of baby food. Pass them around and guess the contents. You can do this with or without the lid.

-Make a quiz with trivia about the pregnancy, such as "where/when was the baby conceived", "what is the actual due date", "to date, how many pounds has the mom gained", etc.

Instead of the normal games, at one shower we had the guests do a "craft" that would actually be meaningful to the mom. We had everyone use permanent fabric markers (buy at any craft store) to decorate burp cloths (buy plain cloth diaper style ones) and/or baby washcloths. More than just mere decorations, we encouraged them to write a note of encouragement. Now, every time the mom uses one of these rags (which is often with a newborn) she also gets a dose of encouragement!

If you google baby shower games but I am sure you can find a bunch...

Guess the diameter of the mom-to-be stomach - although you first need to get approval of mom. You can also find the urban legends of determining sex and try it out on mom at the shower. Obviously, with mom's approval and if the sex isn't known. You could do a q&a about the mom. You could do the standard Baby Shower Gift Bingo. You could do guess the safety pins in the bottle. You could do Baby Shower word scramble.

Good luck!

I loved this game at my shower: basically a quiz of things about my pregnancy for the guests. They had to answer various questions about what they thought was the worst part of being pregnant, how Paul responded to the news I was pregnant, names we had chosen, cravings, etc. It was really fun!

K., my sisters-in-law threw me the BEST shower this summer, but the thing that stuck out to me the most was that they had each guest create a onesie or bib. They provided the white onesies (of various sizes) and bis in a basket with markers for material at each table. Everyone drew pictures or wrote cute things on the clothes and I had to choose the top 3 winners at the end. It wasn't exactly a "game" but it was still great. AND my son gets lots of use out of all the creations! Even the goofy ones are great undershirts. Good luck!

I went to a shower a few years ago where they passed around the toilet paper roll and told us to take an unspecified length. We groaned, assuming we were being forced to humiliate our girlfiend by guessing how big she was.

But, the mom-to-be's sister-in-law surprised us all. We had to tell the group something about ourselves for each square of toilet paper we had taken. It turned into a great getting-to-know you game and a fun ice breaker.

Have fun!

It takes a bit to prepare, but you can put together a CD (or put them on an ipod) of songs all with the word baby in them. Play a snippet of the song and have everyone guess the title (and artist for a tie breaker). They go back and play more of the song so they hear the title or just call out what the songs were. It's fun to mix up music genres and generations. Makes it fun for Grandma and young ones.

Word find: you use the parents names and have people come up with as many words as they can make with the letters to the parents names. They get two points for words that area associated with baby (cup, bib, etc)

Extra note about the game idea with the celebrity face and baby body. You can also put each construction paper one per page and pass them around during the gift opening. It gives guest something else to do while waiting for wrapping paper to open.

Along the marker decorating idea ... have guests write sayings or words of advice on regular disposable diapers. They when mom and dad are up for those 3am changings they have a funny saying or words of advice to make them laugh.

The last baby shower I attended we played this game where you put a package of saftey pins (the small ones) in a bowl of uncooked rice. Without looking you must pull out as many saftey pins as you can...it's really fun because it is difficult to do. The one that pulls out the most pins in a minute wins. (Depending on the number of guests, you may want to have one bowl per table or something like that.)

It's a little gross...but totally fun. Melt a variety of chocolate bars in the mircowave and place the melted candy separatly into diapers. Number the diapers and allow the guest to guess what the candy is by smelling/looking. It if funny watching all of the guests put their heads into the diapers to smell.

These are some baby shower games that I have seen:
Take the labels off of some baby food jars and have everyone guess what the food is.
Have guests drink from a small bottle and see who can drink the fastest.
Have guests tear off toilet paper or cut string to the size of the mom to be's belly.
Who can put a cloth diaper on a baby doll the fastest.
Hand out grids of paper and have guests fill in the squares with names of items that they think the mom to be will get and then play bingo as the mom to be opens her gifts.

Funniest game we played at a friends shower was to blindfold everyone and then give them a piece of paper and a marker and have them draw a picture of a baby. The mom-to-be then picked the one she liked the best (made her laugh the hardest) and that was the winner. Another blindfold game - put tiny safety pins in a bowl full of uncooked white rice and see who can pull out the most pins. Have fun and good luck.

Ones I have participated in: gift bingo...guests write in things they think she will recieve and then whom ever gets bingo during gift opening won a prize.

Baby bottle chugging...buy lots of bottles at dollar store, fill part way with apple juice ir what ever and have a contest on who can drink the fastest...not as easy as you may think

baby food taste test...everyone tast differnt jars of food and tries to guess what is what. they had six kinds of food and dabbed them on paper plates, like a painters pallet, numbered..and you guessed what was what.

Quite frankly I hate games...be sure your sister wants them...I know I am a party poop

For my friend's shower last year I made up books with games. I had a cover page with a baby graphic and then put "baby so&so" due to arrive .... around the top and bottom of the graphic. On the inside I put a couple of games that required paper. I also included a baby poem I found online. Then the last page was used for each guest to write a special letter to the Mom and baby. Something they can look back on for years to come.

At my SILs baby shower last month we asked each guest to bring a baby photo of themselves. As they arrived we took the photo and placed them on a poster board. We displayed the poster board with each photo having a # assigned. The guests had to guess who was who in the photo.

This takes a little time to prepare, but was real fun: Cut out baby bodies from magazines. Cut out famous people faces (not their hair) from magazines. Give all of the famous faces a new baby body and glue them on poster board. I glued a few bodies on a few poster boards, decorated them with baby scrapbooking decorations and number the babies. Depending on where you're having the shower, you can hang them on the wall and have people walk around with an answer sheet guessing who the baby is, or just pass them around.

Another idea: Are you familiar with those football square pools? I made a huge one (100 squares) and had guests sign their name in 5 boxes. (It will vary depending on how many quests you're expecting). The horizontal "team" was books and toys, and the vertical "team" was bibs and hats. You can do whatever you want, though. As the gifts were opened, I kept track of how many of the "team" items she received after about 10-15 minutes, and then another 10-15 minutes, etc. At then end, I gave the 4 people whose names corresponded to the numbers for each quarter a prize. I did NOT make the guests buy the squares.

We played this at both of my sisters baby showers this past year and it has been a hit both times. Get enough safety pins for each person at the shower. When you want to start the game give one to each person. Any time someone says the word "BABY" whoever catches them gets their pin. If you loose your pin you can still get them back if you catch someone else. You can play for the whole shower with a prize at the end, that way people keep getting and giving pins. You will be amazed how many times the word baby is used. The person with the most pins at end of game wins.

This may sound a little wierd - but it was a hoot at my friends shower just a few weeks ago. Her sisters were the host and they had these little little plastic babies about one inch big and froze them in ice cubes. When we were eating/drinking refreshments, everyone got one in thier punch....the first to have the ice cube melt "or baby be born" won a prize. Of course not a good idea if there will be kids that would choke or swallow. but I thought it was creative.

Also they had several baby items on a table....formula, diapers, wipes, etc. and we were to guess the price of each and tally up - how ever was the closest won a prize and the mother to be got to keep all the item - a win win for everyone!

Have fun!

Okay it is a bit gross but hilarious. You take mini candy bars or chunks of candy bars and melt them into newborn diapers. Then you pass them around and people have to write down what kind of candy bar it is based on the look and smell. So it looks like everyone is smelling poopy diapers but it is so FUNNY!! Let me know if you have other questions about it.

2 easy ones to do while people are mingling at the beginning-- not too much pressure to play. 1- put candy in a bottle and guess how many are in. 2- put baby items in sealed brown lunch bags and you have to feel on the outside what is inside.
I also put a paper on everyone's favor to guess the date and time the baby would be born and then sent the winner gift card.

My two favorites are baby-related without having to eat baby food :)
1) You put baby items in socks and then pass them around. Everyone has to put their foot in the sock and guess what they feel with their toes. Use things like bottle nipples (you can buy one or two replacements for cheap without buying a whole bottle), pacifiers, baby spoons...get creative. The harder the better!
2) A friend of mine got online and found a list of celeb couples with weird baby name choices. Moxy Crime Fighter, Jett, Pilot, Apple...She would read the baby name and you had to come up with the celeb couple. It's a little harder if you are having grandma there, just because of the generation gap, but it can just be fun laughing at the chosen names :)

Good Luck!

Hi there - I went to my cousins baby shower and they played a game that I had never seen before. They took different flavored candy bars and somewhat melted each one individually and put it inside a diper. They would pass each one around the room and the guest would have to guess what kind of candy bar it was. Some people would smell it and some would even taste it. It was a really funny game. Make sure some of the candy bars are ones with nuts. It makes it look really gross in the diaper!!

Good Luck!!

My sister threw my baby shower and had some great ideas. Everyone decorated onesies with fabric paint. My sis bought the fabric paint and stencils and everyone had fun.

She also came up with a couple games... One was how well do you know the new mom. She had a list of 10-15 questions about me (my favorite flower, color, where I was born, etc) and I answered them before the shower. All the guests had to guess the answers and whoever got the most right, won. It's fun if you get creative with the questions.

Another one was a true or false quiz. She researched some of the most bizzare baby products out there and then invented some of her own. You had to guess if the product she named was really out there or made-up. It was funny to hear some of the really wierd stuff out there, and some of the ones she thought of were ingenious.
