Some friends and I are going to have a 1st time shower for our friend. Two of the homes are underconstruction so we need some ideas of "where" we could have one...other than our homes. We live in Noblesville but are willing to travel a little. There will be about 20 people attending.

Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you for all of your advice! I have put in a request at our church. It will be nice and no one will have to clean their home prior...ha! Thanks again! I look forward to hosting and having fun.

Do any of you live in a neighborhood with a clubhouse? Or know anyone that does? I've been to a babyshower in someone's clubhouse and it was really nice.

Many smaller hotels have conference rooms (i.e. in Fishers, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express). I used to work at those properties and we would rent them pretty cheap for just an afternoon. They will also most likely let you bring in your own food since they do not have a restaurant.
If any of you belong to a church, I have had parties in a small room at our church to.

Most restaurants have a "banquet" room. I've gone to a baby shower at a restaurant before & it was nice. We all ordered off the menu & had our own bill. The party still provided cake & shower gift.
No mess for the party givers. A great idea in my book.
Good luck. :O)

Some restaurants have sectioned off rooms like Macaroni Grill that might work. Cheesecake Factory might let you use several tables in the back corner, too and they have nice big booths.

I saw a mom with an ad somewhere on indyschild.com who photographed showers and made albums for the bride/mom as a group gift. I know from experience how hard it is to get decent photos while you're trying to host the shower so I thought it was a good idea.

Good luck!

Any of you belong to churches?? There should be a basement, classroom, etc available in churches. Hotels rent out rooms for meetings, too, but personally, I'd rather have it at a church.

Hi T., I'm not sure how much you are wanting to put into the shower, but there are so many options in the area. I know that the Marion County public library meeting rooms are all free if you don't mind setting it up and bringing food in, that's at least an economical option.
If you are planning a brunch or lunch time event, I went to a place called Zest on 56th and the Monon trail Saturday for the first time and absolutely loved it! The food was absolutely amazing and the decor was a lot of fun. They had a room on the side that seemed as though it could be blocked off from the rest of the restaurant with a couple of doors. It's a pretty small place, locally owned, and great artwork on the walls. I was commenting to my Mother that it seemed like a great place to have a shower or event like that. You woud have to call them to find out of they even do that kind of thing.
Happy partying!

Hollyhock Hill restaurant is a nice place to have a shower. They have a minimum on how many people can be there though. They have a wonderful chicken salad meal that they serve for special occasions. It isn't too pricey. I think it is located on College Avenue.

Also, I have thrown several showers at clubhouses in friends, friends parents, or grandparents neighborhoods. You might try this route. It will be much cheaper.

My husband and I own a restaurant in the Clearwater area called Sangiovese and I recently held a baby shower their for a friend and it worked out great. Now that the weather is nice we also have waterfront seating with a great patio and view so you could always host it on the deck. For my shower I had it buffet style with different kinds of pastas, salads, and bread and also offered wine or soft drinks. It really turned out nice and we have since hosted many events like this. So if you are interested in looking into it please let me know I would be happy to set something up.

Other suggestions maybe a club house, banquet house or even a tea room might work.
