Baby Noy Names Starting with Letter "A"
Please help me!! I am 26wks preg and having a hard time with a boy name. Our daughter's name begins with the letter A and I would like ideas for cute boy names starting with the letter A as well!! Any ideas are appreciated. So far my husband and I have only agreed on Alexander (Alex) and Aaron. Thanks!
So What Happened?™
Thank you all very much! We ended up naming our sweet baby boy Alexander Liam and call him Alex for short! Thanks again!!

Those are both great names! Please skip Aiden (or any other spelling of that name). There are so many of them and it became popular from Sex and The City so that is pretty lame.

Hi! I used to live in Tyler and still visit often! My oldest son's name is Aaron. It is common enough to not stand out , but not overused. I would steer clear fom some of the names suggested that have a feminine ring to them. As a mom of 2 boys, I know they will not like their name as they get older if it"sounds like a girl name." Congratulations and good luck!

I had a friend in high school named Arick I think it may have been spelled Aaryck, I thought that was a pretty cool way of spelling the name.

Personally, I'd skip Aiden unless you're okay with your son going through life as one of fifty million Aidens, not to mention it'll rhyme with Jayden, Brayden, Caidyn, etc. which are all popular and plentiful...and when the name is called out, over half his class will turn their heads and say "what"?

I read an article that said to think about your child interviewing for a job, and don't give a name that is common. It's better to have a name that stands out on a resume.
Addison
Abbott
Adrian
I'm stumped but there's a few.

When you name your child think about the fact that they aren't going to be a cute little baby forever. This baby is going to be a grown boy then a man.
Go with something solid like Adam, Andrew, or Anthony. You don't want him to sound too girly and you don't want him getting beaten up on the playground. Just a thought. :)

I love Alexander, Avery and Asher. If we had a boy it would have been Alexander. My husband thought Avery and Asher were a little bit wussy. Unless you love Aiden, don't do it. 'Tis very popular and will probably wind up sounding dated. Other ideas: Alec, Aubrey, Austen, August... I can't think of many others that start with A. Congratulations and good luck :)

I love the name Andrew. I wanted to name my oldest son Andrew Scott, but our last name begins with S...so his initials would have spelled A.S.S. We went with Jeffery Scott, naming him after a long time friend of my husband's, who's name is Jeff and he's part Scottish.

Hello. I happen to have a love of older names & very nontraditional names. On my husbands side: One of his Grandfathers was named: Alder (All-der) Adler Raymond (Not really sure why they just switched up the first few letters of his first two names, but the man was French Canadian)
On my side: I have a Great Uncle Alton ( I love this name!)
And then there is Aric (Sounds just like "Eric") I love this one too!!!

We're expecting our third boy, and the first two have vowel names, so we've been going through "A" names recently too (our first two are Alex and Owen). The names that really stood out for me were Asher and Anders. (We ended up going with Ian, however, so we wouldn't have two A names and only one O name.) Have fun!

My boys' names are Ayden and Adam. Ayden is definitely pretty popular now, but it really hasn't been an issue for us. We still love the name, and we only know of one other Aidan in his whole elementary school (which is huge). If you like the name, I wouldn't worry about it; he'll make it his own! My husband's name is Andy. We were thinking of Alex Andrew (instead of Alexander something -- I'm not a big fan of naming kids something you have no intention of actually calling them! ha) for both boys, but ended up not using it although I still really like it. We used it for our 3rd... her name is Zoë Alexandra! Good luck!

My little ones name is "AIDEN". It can be spelled different ways from what I saw in a baby book. You can spell it the way I have it , & some people spell it "AIDAN" & even "AYDAN". It's a name I like alot.
Being this name is a popular name I wanted my baby to have a nickname he can also be called by . So we gave him the middle name James. So he goes by A.J. also. This way if & when the time comes in school or any where else someone has the same name he can choose to have his Nickname used.

I wanted to same thing. When i picked the name for my children i didnt hear either one very much but when they started school i heard a lot of my daughters name. So there initials are exactly the same. I have and Ashley Ranae and Anthony Reed. There are not many Anthony's out there but a lot of Ashley's. The thing with the name Anthony is they can go by Tony. Everyone always asks me of he goes by Tony. I always tell them that when he gets older if he wants to go by Tony then he is more than welcome to but right now it is Anthony.

My son's name is Alexander...I love it now. At first I wasn't too keen of it. But like you it was the ONLY name my husband and I could agree on. We also went back and forth with Andrew, but I didn't like the nickname Andy...So I was very pleased with Alexander...with it he can go by many nicknames, Alex (which is what everyone calls my son, except for me), AJ (our lastname starts with a J), Xander, Xman....Quite honestly I loved the name Zander but my husband didn't, and I expected myself to call him that, but I find myself always using his full name...anyway wish you luck. Let us know what you choose!!
