Hubby & I are going to TTC #2 in the fall. We've been debating baby names for awhile. We do have a middle name picked out for a boy. Our hope for this one, but no first name. We haven't even begun to talk about girls names yet.

What first name would go nicely with Matthew? Last name is DeGiovanni.

Hubby wants Roberto Matthew DeGiovanni.

I do not like Roberto. I think he may just be messing with me, but who knows, lol.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Kate, LOL! I didn't even think of that! I haven't watched that movie in awhile.

I do like Luke Matthew :-)

Mom2Girls, My husband is Italian. I'm Irish/German. Not one bit offended & thanks for all the suggestions!

Riley, thanks for the suggestion!

CW, #1 is a girl (Paige). Would prefer a boy this time, but won't complain if its another girl.

An Italian name is not a requirement, just need names to go with the Italian last name :-)

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! :-)

DeGiovanni is a little long, so I would pick a shorter first name (my maiden name was very long so I have experienced having to learn to spell it and write it out, a shorter first name would help). I am partial to Luke Matthew (my son's name :) ). Also depends on what #1 is named. We had Natalie for # 1, and I couldn't see naming #2 Matthew or Nathan, my 2 fav boy names, as a first name because I didn't want Nat and Matt or Nat and Nate.

Good luck, and maybe you will have a girl!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and hope I don't offend anyone but by the last name you have, you sound Italian! I am 100% Italian myself and I married a man who is 100% Irish. We decided to name our children both Irish and Italian names in honor of our families and heritage. Having said that...I have some good names for you to match that awesome DeGiovanni!

Christopher
Domenic
Jonathan
Nicholas
David
Gabriel
Thomas
Anthony
Andrew
Angelo
Joseph

I simply ran down the list of all the guys in my family but left out one's like Carlo, Marco, Emilio, Camilo, and Rocco because I didn't think they sounded too good with the Matthew. Other than that...love the last name and with a name like that.....no matter what you choose it will sound AMAZING!

I love the baby name questions, so here are my suggestions...
Boys: Anthony, Vance, Ivan, Isaac, Lucas (you could shorten to Luke) but might sound too biblacle, Stewart/Stuart, Beau, Christopher-but way too long with middle and last name, Evan, Henry, Lance, Nicholas, Oliver, Thomas
Girls: Grace, Claire/Clara, Nora, Hannah, Maria, LOVE Paige and I see that's your daughter's name. My daughter is Olivia and I love that name too!(we didn't know anyone named that until we named her that, then we heard it everywhere...)

All the Best at naming your Little One to Come and Congrats!

I have a Sean Matthew. I also LOVE the name Benjamin, but we couldn't use it because of our last name.

The US social security Admin just put out it's list of most popular names for 2011. Do not pick any in the top 10. What you pick depends on how Italian you want to sound. I really like Antonio and agree with you, I don't like Roberto. There is an episode of Dora with Roberto the Robot. I like James, Henry, and Christian.

If we have a boy it will be Antonino Joseph (family name - and Italian), and I think that would work well as Antonino Matthew...

I think Luke sounds good, but am more partial to the more Italian names. Espically since the last name is so obviously Italian

Joseph Matthew; Mary Katherine- because you have to have a girls' name chosen, too. And don't you think Mary Katherine is such a nice name? Especially paired with DeGiovanni...
