Hi moms, I was wondering if you can help me with finding a name first name for a girl. The middle name will be Louise (my grandmothers name). I was thinking something like Ava Louise and my sister mentioned Ella Louise but I'm not so sure....

Thanks moms!

I don't like the way Ella Louise flows... to many LLLLL's...

Ava Louise is nice.

I do agree with the poster that said a more traditional name probably matches up best with Louise. I also think a 2 syllable first name sounds nice with Louise. I like:

Anna Louise
Sarah Louise
Emma Louise
Dana Louise

Or three syllables:

Julia Louise
Thalia Louise
Andrea Louise
Maria Louise

Hmmm, for Louise I'd want something pretty classic, like Rebecca, Emma or Amelia. Good luck in choosing!

Ava, Ella, and Emma are way too popular these days.

Otherwise, I do like the names that end in an "a" sound to go with a middle name Louise: Clara, Nora, Sarah, Anna, Victoria

Katherine is also pretty.

Even before I saw anyone else's suggestions, I thought "Anna Louise" would be perfect. Pretty, classic, not trendy. Congratulations!

If you like the name Ella then maybe Emma Louise? That was there aren't so many L's. But I do love the name Ava. Sorry I didn't see everyone else's suggestions for Emma......great moms think alike!

It was my g-ma's middle name too, she has 2 Louise namesakes:
Sophia and Abigail.

If I had to pick between Ava and Ella, I would pick Ava. For the same reason as Lee P. stated.

Hope I don't come off as annoying. I just was thinking that people are not giving you a one name solution- just more choices, making it even harder to decide. Maybe, since most people call their friends by their first names, you should pick Ava or Ella based on which you prefer to call your daughter. Both sound fine with Louise, but really how often are you going to say the whole name after the birth announcement?

My grandmother was Catherine Louise, so I'm partial to that, but I was also thinking (like several others) Emma. I do like Ava as well.

I like ava. I like Emma too, Ella Louise is too many l's for me, but an e name would give her the initials ELM, right? I also like anna, Harper,Kathryn, Lauren, Madeline, Naomi, Olivia, Rebecca, Samantha, sofia/sophia/sophie, taryn, Veronica, Victoria. Congrats!

Well,, my middle name is Louise, so IMO, Melissa Louise works pretty well! My best girlfriend named her youngest Olivia Louise, so that's another option, too!

ETA--I've always read that you're supposed to try to switch it up with the number of syllables between first, middle & last names which I think is probably why I prefer a 3-syllable first name with a 2-syllable middle or vice versa. Just a thought.
