How long until you can feel the baby move? I have a three year old but I can't remember how far along I was when I felt the firt movement. But the other night I felt "that" feeling and I was wondering if it was all in my head or was it the real thing. I'am three months pregnant.

What can I do next?

I want to say I didn't feel my child move until 5+ months. I do remember though, it was like a little flutter, not a kick or anything like that.

You can feel it earlier with the second baby and that sounds about right on the timing.

C., typically you should start feeling movement around 4 months, but since you're a second time mom, you'll be more aware of the things going on in your body and with the baby than you were the first time around, so it could be sooner. Congrats and best of luck to you!

hi C.! i have a 4 year old and a 13 month old, so i am all to familiar with "that" feeling! i began feeling my son move at about 3 months. it sort of felt like butterflies in my tummy. then at about 4 1/2 or 5 months it was a roller derby!!! so, i am sure that you were feeling your baby! hope all goes well with you and GOOD LUCK!!!!

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and I felt little baby flutters at around 16 weeks this time. It was always when I was laying kind of on my tummy with a body pillow under.
Hope that helps & God bless your pregnancy.

Veteran moms(as u are) tend to notice those first subtle kicks — also known as "quickening" — earlier than first-time moms. usually 8 to twelve weeks. (A woman who's been pregnant before can more easily distinguish her baby's kick from other belly rumblings, such as gas.)

Your build may also have something to do with when you'll be able to tell a left jab from a hunger pang. Thinner women tend to feel movement earlier and more often than women who carry more weight.

Women have described the sensation as being like popcorn popping, a goldfish swimming around, or butterflies fluttering. You'll probably chalk up those first gentle taps or swishes in your belly to gas or hunger pains, but once you start feeling them more regularly, you'll recognize the difference. You're more likely to feel these early movements when you're sitting or lying quietly.

I am also due in Feb 2008, and I keep feeling little "flutters". I am not sure if it is from my expanding belly, or what, and my doctor said it was possible it was the baby, but not very likley since he/she is only 2 CM right now. Good luck with the baby!!
