Baby Monitor Advice

We have the Summer brand TV monitor... we did buy 2 so we could have 2 monitors. I have one on my nightstand and my husband has one on his~ each set to one of our daughters. You can switch back and forth on each, as well as on the hand-held portable monitors. So, if I hear my older daughter on his side, I can switch my monitor and look to see what she's doing, but then switch it back to my younger daughter. Des othat make sense? We have never had a problem with them interferring with each other.

We have the Graco Digital Dual Monitor. It works fine. Sometimes there is still some interference, but a slight reposition typically works. Also, our kids rooms are a long way away from our room, so they do have a pretty far reach.

Here's the link to the one we have. I have twins and they each have their own camera. The set comes with a monitor and camera, but I was able to buy an additional camera and use the same monitor. If you try to do two cameras and two monitors, you might get interference. Its the best thing I've bought so far. Its very comforting to me to have the video part. It prevents you from having to wonder what they're up to.

Hi M..
This may not be a very popular opinion, but have you considered just not using a monitor anymore for your older child? By the time the new baby is born, he/she will be almost 2. Unless there is a medical necessity, a monitor is a nice feature but not necessary. Seems like an expense that you could avoid. If you are set on getting a second one, then I'd say check out what the other moms have said. If you would consider just using one, why don't you try to take the monitor out of your kid's room for a few days and see how it goes, kinda like a "test run". If it doesn't work, you haven't lost any money by trying it.

If you haven't yet decided. We have three monitors in our house. Two of them are the same brand, we just use them on different channels. The other one is a different brand. We do not typically have any interference. Good luck. - C.
