Does anyone have a baby monitor that they just love? I am looking for a good one that will hopefully work from a second floor to a basement.

I love my Summer Infant one. IT's one that you can see and hear on. Just be sure that you know what the frequency of your phone is and get the opposite in frequency with the monitor so that they don't interfere with each other.

Yes, the Fisher Price Lights and Sounds is very cheap and gets really good reception (much better than our much pricier Whisper Connect one), but I agree that I hate that it eats batteries instead of having a plug-in rechargable one. Still, the reception is really good and I use it all the time between the second floor and basement (my husband also always uses it in the garage).

I bought the Sony Baby Monitor, 900. And I love it ! It's about 45 bucks but it's worth every penny. It has a huge distance range, it's water proof, and it's very durable. I've dropped it soo many times and it's a plug in charge. You don't have to waste batteries. I also bought a cheaper set made by Fisher price from Walgreens that cost about 18 dollars and I like those too. The only problem with that one is it takes batteries and it's not as durable.

Another vote for the Sony.

I love the lights on it, so even if I have it turned all the way down and the baby makes noise, the lights flash. It also has a setting where it only 'turns on' when the baby makes a noise so you don't have the white noise sound buzzing through all night long.

We purchased the Fisher-Price Dual Receiver 900 MHz Private Monitor for our first child, I love it, love it.
Reception is great, I have walked down the block with it and can still hear my son perfectly. Having two handsets is wonderful also, gives you more flexibility of placement around the house. A little pricey at around $129.00 but well worth it, they are durable and have lasted us over two years already.
