Baby Gate

I need a baby gate for the top of my stairs! I need one that is sturdy but can open or remove easily. I spent 5 hours in the E.R tonight after my son got thru our other gate and fell all the way down the hardwood steps. My son is fine. I feel completly horriable and guilty. So any suggestions on a good gate would be appreciated. Thanks!

What can I do next?

It's a little pricey but at babies r us. they have a gate you can screw itno the wall. we have three out our house at the top of oth sets of stairs and in my daycare. I love them they open pretty easily but are very safe.
I hope this helps.

K., I was just getting ready to ask the same question. I need a baby gate for the top of our stairs, and as it needs to be sturdy, I also want to be able to open it to get through so I don't break my neck trying to climb over it.
Any ideas we can get on a good gate will be great!! Thanks!

We bought a baby gate from Babies-r-us that is metal, and attaches to the wall on one side and has an easy to work latch system on the other side. We bought it initially to keep the dogs out of the main floor of the house, and now it works great to corral our baby in her walker!
