Hi ladies,
I was wondering if anyone knows when to move
baby from stage 2 foods to stage 3 foods?
My son will be 10 months on the 23rd and
has been eating stage 2 for 2-3 months!
If anyone has any advice that would be awesome!

Thanks so much! Muah!

Hello M., I changed my little one from stage 2 to 3 right about 10 months. They often use their gums to moosh the food up, which is already very soft. Yes I agree with the others, it does take a while for them to get rid of the texture and to know what to do with it. Just keep trying from time to time and he will eat up with no problem soon.

Hi M.,

I give my son table foods. he won't eat the mushy baby foods. He's teething so it think the small pieces of fruits, veggies, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, things like that feel good on his gums. he loves it and he's learning how to self feed! It's a bit of a mess but it's fun!

I agree with the other moms who said it is up to you. I think it really does depend on how many teeth your little guy has. My son didn't get a tooth until he was almost 10 months old, and by his 1st birthday he still only had 2 teeth, so he was on baby food for awhile.
There is nothing wrong with your son still eating stage 2 food at this point. Try the stage 3 and see how it goes. My son took a long time to get used to more textured foods, so good luck!

M.-
It really depends on how many teeth your child has, and if he has any issues with texture. The more teeth he has, the more able he will be to handle chunkier foods - does he ever gag or choke on the stage 2 foods that he eats now? If not, and as long as he has more than 4 or 5 teeth, he should be able to handle the stage three stuff. There are many more larger chunks that require teeth, even molars, to appropriately chew pieces of food that he might otherwise choke on.
If you think he is ready, buy a jar or two of the stage three and see if he handles it well. My daughter had 10 teeth by the time she was 10 months old, and totally skipped over the stage three and went right into soft table foods.

Hi M.. To be honest, by the time my son was ten months, I had him on table and Gerber meals. Does your child have any teeth? If so, look into to giving him those little Gerber Grasuate meals. Its really up to you though. Whenever you feel it is time to move onto the next level. Good luck. Write if you have any questions or just ideas you want to bounce around. Good luck and Best Wishes, T.
