Baby Boy Names Help

I never thought I'd ask the question, but I'm really stuck. We need 2 boys names. We want a J name with the middle name Michael (husband's middle name), and we'll call him J.T., so we like

Jayson Michael Taborga
Julian Michael Taborga

I'm up for other J names, but not Joseph (husband's name and he doesn't want a Junior) and John. I like John or Jonathan, but my BIL is a big jerk (that's being polite) and I won't give my kid the same name as him.

For the second name, we are going to use my husband's first name Joseph as a middle name. We do not want two J names and I'd rather not have a S name as my daughter is Sofia. Any thoughts?

What can I do next?

I like Julian.
I know a lot of Jason's...some good, some bad.
And one that spells it w/ a y and he is the biggest creep I've ever met.
Seriously.

James/Jameson
Judah
Josiah
Joshua
Jeremy
Jack

Congrats!

I like Jayson Michael and Matthew Joseph the best! (I agree with your husband that there should not be a "junior" since you are having twin boys.)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I have boy/girl twins and we named them after their grandfather and grandmother.

OH.... and I know you didn't ask if I like abreviations on kids, but I really don't I prefer hearing their actual names. I much rather would call him Jayson instead of J.T. Jayson is a really nice name, so why change it to just abbreviations? Are you thinking of calling one twin by his initials and the other one by his first name? When I hear a boy being called by initials it's usually the first letter of his first name followed by a J to stand for him being a "junior." Oh.. and James Michael flows nicely, but I'd want to call him James and not Jim. And... Tyler Joseph flows nicely, too.

James? My Uncle and Grandfather were James, but went by Jake. My dad and son are "John" but go by Jack.

My Grandmother was Janet, married to James/Jake, Sons Jack, James/Jake ("Jungle" when he was a professional skier) and Jay and daughter Janice. Horse Jupiter and dog Jock. And she swears she didn't do it on purpose.

I do like "JT". Would you do J T T? (ie Jake Tiberius Taborga) so JT is the first names, and not the first and last?

My husband wanted to name our first son Tecumpseh (as in the Indian chief or William T. Sherman). I put my foot down on that one.

I named my son Daniel Joseph. In fact he has the same initials as me, not by design though. I'm fond of biblical names.

I really like the name Josiah.
I think Patrick Joseph would be a strong sounding name. You could call him PJ for short. :)

I like Jason more than Julian (spelled without the y). My son is Josh, so that is my personal favorite J name. I also like James and think it goes well with your last name.

For the second one, I like the suggestion below of Matthew Joseph. A friend of mine has twin boys with the initials JR and RJ and I think it's a cute way to make them match without really being too matchy.

Congrats, and good luck with the twins!

Some things to think about: the spelling of Jason with a "y" seems to indicate you want to call him "Jay" for short. Otherwise, I think it just becomes a spelling nightmare for him---he'll always be correcting the spelling of his name. Julian is much less common, and to me that's a good thing. I always wanted my kids to have a less common name so you might want to check out the baby name popularity lists. I didn't want my child to have to go by Matthew D. or Sarah D. and always have another child with the same name in his or her classes. Some of the names suggested by others--while nice---are extremely popular, such as Jacob/Jake, Matthew and Jack/Jackson. What about Jensen? I also think most of the time when people go by initials they represent the first and middle names---J.R. Ewing for John Ross Ewing for example. If you really want to use initials, why not use Joseph for the first name, a T name for the middle (Tanner?), then he's not technically a junior and you still have your J.T. Then you can use Michael for the middle name of the other one? Just some thoughts. . . Blessings on all of you!

Julian is a really nice name. I really dislike initial names. Like, a lot. But it is your child, not mine. As for the second name (congrats!) I like older names that you don't hear anymore like Edward, Grant, Henry, and Dean.
