I am way behind on sending baby announcements for my 6 month old! Did anyone else procrastinate like I have? Am looking for some cute ideas. Thought I may do a card featuring pics from her first 6 months. Feeling pretty guilty at the moment. :)

Great idea. If you can put together something with pics you can have them printed at Winkflash.com I use them for all the fun creative stuff I do and they are cheap!

These have been really HOT this year!
http://bit.ly/BS56d I have made them for Birth Announcements, Party Favors, Wedding Favors, and even as a way for Brides to ask their friends to be in the Bridal Party. They are completely customizable: flavor, color, fortune. This listing is just for 24 but if you need more just email me through the site and I can make a custom listing for you.

I just sent mine out and my girls are about the same age. The biggest thing I thought about was that down the road, I would feel worse if I didn't do it at all then if I sent them late. What happens when they grow up and the second one wants to know what her announcement looked like and has to be told that you only did it for the first one! =) Anyways, that was my motivation - I'm glad I did it too bc I have had some new responses from people who loved getting them. Yes, some people will say it's late but who cares, if you want to do it, then do it! And I did the same thing - I chose a card with multiple pics to show her progression over the first 6 months. BTW - we did ours at Costco - $15 for 50 announcements! Also, I did include a little note in each one and just said, "We know this is late but thought you would enjoy the pics!" Because the pictures are what people really want to see since they already know you had a baby. Anyways, things to think about! Good luck!

Send them out! Anyone with kids understands the delay and knows that life happens and it is busy with a baby and a toddler! If budget is an issue, check out-Walmart.com. I did my Christmas cards thru them last year and got tons of compliments on it and on a thank you photo card I did last month. You can use snapshots, the price is very reasonable and you get it back pretty fast. You can select cards that have a photo collage to show her aging progression from birth until now--everyone will love it! It has taken me years to learn this, but just do things on your own schedule and don't worry about what others think. No more guilt! :)

Well, you don't have to feel guilty anymore, because I just sent out my baby's announcements and she turned 1 last month. :) We had lots of reasons that led to the delay - we moved to a new house two days before the baby was born, we readied and sold the old house about two months after she arrived and my husband was laid off for several months so announcements weren't a top priority when we were trying to stretch our dollar. The most important thing is that the baby is formally announced to family and friends. It is a polite thing to do and you need one for the baby book. Frankly, photos of a 6 month old are much cuter than a newborn. Your 6 month old will be able to smile and really charm the announcement recipients so they won't even notice the delay. Best wishes!

You should still send them out, I create cards all of the time for people who have put it off for a little while. New babies some how put you a little behind sometimes =)

I would love to do your announcements

It's never too late to celebrate a new addition to the family!!! Check out www.invitingsmiles.com They have some really cute photo birth announcements...some of the styles allow you pick several pics. of your little one. That way you could have pictures from when she was a baby, as well as when she was a few months old :)

I think you should send them out! Every baby needs to be celebrated! And I think everyone would understand the cards being late. It's hard work staying at home with a two year old and a baby. (I did it too!)
Good luck with your cards!

Dear B.,

I would go ahead and send them out or do the extra special Christmas update like one Mom suggested. Drop the guilt and share your joy! People like to hear good news from their loved ones!

I can totally relate! Don't feel guilty. Just do a card like you said with pics since her birth and write. I'm six months old on the card. The pictures will show more of what she looks like anyway. Much better than the newborn ones.

Save yourself some grief and forget about it! Everyone who wants or needs toknow does by now and sending announcements now might look like a bid for gifts. You don't have time for guilt!!! Right??
God bless you and your young family.
