I have really no experience in this area, BUT I use to live in Houston, TX where on every corner there were postings of doctors who would do vasectomy reversals so I know it is possible. I believe that when they do the vasectomy they put a clamp in there to stop the flow of the little swimmers so I assume that they can reverse it too. Sorry I do not have more details.

the only way you two can have a baby is for him to have a reversal of that vasectomy. good luck

G.: I'm not positive about this, but I do believe that vasectomies are reversable. I would look in the phone book, find a doctor that does vasectomies and call. With a short telephone call, you will be able to find out if it can be "undone". Again, I think it can, but it is probably really expensive and not covered by any type of medical insurance.

You always have the option of adopting! There are so many precious babies that need a loving mom & dad!

Good Luck!

It is possible to have a vasectomy reversed but it is a painful process!!! My husband had his vasectomy reversed but it was MUCH more painful than having the vasectomy so be very certain that this is what you BOTH want. Also check with your insurance to see what if anything is covered. After the reversal, I was able to conceive but then had a miscarriage and could not seem to get pregnant again. We were told that we would have a window of about 1 to 3 years to get pregnant and then scar tissue could build up and stop the reversal from working. So after 3 and 1/2 years of trying to get pregnant, we gave up. Of course after completely giving up, I got pregnant again and everything went perfect. I now have a beautiful 4 year old girl. I also have 2 children (now teens) that I adopted and love just as much as my 4 year old so I have seen both sides first hand. If you husband is not willing to have a reversal then adoption is always an option. I would recommend talking with your huband to find out why he had the reversal in the first place and see if he is open to having children. My husband had a bad first marriag with 2 children and did NOT want anymore children with her so he had the vasectomy. Fortunately for me, he was willing to have the reversal and have a child with me. I now feel like our family is complete.

does your husband really want more children? If he really does, know that vasectomy is medically reversible. AFter he has it reversed, you should be able to conceive.

You will have to talk with your dr but sometimes it is possable to unto the vasectomy. If not there are other ways your dr can help you with to get PG.

You can call the Urologic Specialists office that is located near 45th and Garnett here in Tulsa. They can give you information about reversal and the process of it and cost, etc. Normally, a vasectomy should be considered permanent as it isn't even certain that a pregnancy is 100% likely after a reversal.
I think another mom mentioned the possiblility of adoption. I have a couple of friends at my church that have fostered kids and eventually adopted them, these kids being very young (infant/toddler age). I was an adopted child and I can't emphasize enough that kids need good parents out there that love kids because there are some bad parents out there and kids need good homes. My adoptive parents couldn't have any biological kids of their own so they adopted.

Good luck!

I also know a couple who have done the vasectomy reversal, she has a 5 yr old now - his kids from his first marriage are grown and gone already! Hope your husband will work with you and give you that wonderful blessing!!
