I have a 2-year-old son. I have found some Mom's groups/playgroups online, but I would like some recommendations. It would be nice to have a Christian-based group, but any recommendations you have would be great. Thanks.

What can I do next?

First and foremost, you must call Victoria at Community Church of Joy to join the "Moving On After Moving In" class. It is a great study of the book, "After the Boxes are Unpacked" by a woman from Scottsdale that has moved 14 times or something like that. It is regularly featured on "Focus on the Family." It is for women who have recently moved and you get suggestions on how to find your niche and you can ask questions like, "Where do you get your hair cut?" or "Where do you take a 2-year-old in the summer?". I think Victoria is out-of-town right now but you can email her at ____@____.com and leave your information. People come who aren't members of the church so all are welcome.

Community Church of Joy also has a "Mommy and Me" group led by a truly amazing, godly woman named Lizzy. You don't have to be a member of the church to join them either. Go to joyonline.org and then click "Ministries" and then "Children" and then "Mommy and Me." I don't know if they are taking a summer break or not but you can call for information.

Another option is to search out MOPS International online. They are set up also as community-wide ministries in various churches. It is for moms with babies through pre-school.

Welcome to Phoenix. The Lord has great plans for you! He brought you here for a great reason!

Hi, R. ~

I'm SAHM to Michael, 8, Caleb, 4, and Mercy, who will be 2 in a little over a week. We love getting together with new friends! We live in El Mirage, but don't mind driving some. Let me know if you'd like to get together sometime. :)
