I am an advocate for wholistic medicine.....and I am also in the medical profession (most people find that odd). I have seen a chiropractor for several issues and have been very pleased with the results. I have several friends that have told me success stories of either their children or friends children that also saw a chiropractor and were very pleased with the results. Dr. Kelly Martin is based out of Frisco.....don't know her # off the top of my head. Hope this helps!!

Check into NAET. They look for allergies through muscle response testing. Then they clear the allergies through accupressure. The initial cost is a little pricey but if the allergen hasn't cleared then its free when you go back. I think Iva lim peck is in plano. Just get on the naet website and it will give you a list of practicioners in your area. You can call and ask more about it. My daughter has had allergies for a while and I had this done and we have had no issues. We went back once because the mold hadn't cleared and she has been great. No more antihistamines and no more nasonex. Check into it. Its really hard to believe until you are it done. We used Dr Jennifer polen from dehart chiropractic in Denton. They got me in the same week and there was no wait time. Let me know if you have more questions.

I take Vemma, and I had such wonderful results that it ended up being a business for me. I heard a surgeon that had also been helped as I had, telling about putting his grandson on it. He has had upper respiratory problems since birth, and this past 18 months on Vemma, his grandson has had the healthiest time of his life. Children take a child size portion of the liquid formula. Now they are coming out on September 1st with a children's formula called Vemma Next, with the things needed for child development added, such as DHA. Our four year old granddaughter takes Vemma and has for a year; she doesn't get sick like she used to from the things going around the daycare. Her allergies are not an issue anymore. I can hardly wait until they get the children's formula out. I will order the travel size bottles so I can have samples to give out. It is supposed to taste great. The regular Vemma tastes great, so I am sure this will. Vemma stands for vitamins, essential minerals, mangosteen, and aloe vera. The formula is clinically tested and found to be in the top 1% of its kind. Simply works for allowing the body to heal itself with the proper nutrition it needs. There is a link that has the CEO, a father of twins that are 1 1/2 and a 3 year old, telling about it. If I close this to find it, I will lose what I typed. If interested though, I can send that link to you. http://www.myvemma.com/annnoble

I have used Dr. Greg Steiner who does accupuncture to eliminate my allergies. My friend took her 4 year old to him as well and also had great success! He is in Allen and his number is ###-###-####. None of the prescription stuff worked on me so this was a real God send. Most insurance covers it and it usually gets resolved in a few visits.

I know how you feel about all the meds. I have 2 boys (now 3y and 6y) with asthma/allergies. The meds were out of this world, and even worse if they were in the throws of an attack. An attack would bring steroids, inhaler (am/pm), nasonex, claritin, albuterol (every 1 to 4 hours) and pulmicort, not to mention an the antibiotics that usually fell into the mix. I spent a good portion of the day just administering drugs and hated it. Their bodies just seemed too small to have to pump that much into them. However, I am not sure that there was a holistic or homeopathic method that would have got them through it. I found that once I got a doctor who's concentrations was asthma and allergies/pulmonologist they were able to control the asthma and severely reduce the daily meds and number of asthmatic attacks. Getting it under control was the key. Now, they have one inhaler and I can tell when seasonal allergies are coming for claritin. It is amazing. I can tell when the airway restriction is coming and I knock it out with a nebulizer before it ever hits hard, which if truly far and few between as it was before. My 3yr old has hardly ever had to take steroids.
I know this is not what you are asking for, but I thought I would throw it out there. I wish I had found Dr. VanWaggoner/Plano long before I did. It could have saved several vacations, school days, etc.
I hope you find something that helps. If you are interested in Dr. V's contact information I will gladly send it to you.
Good Luck !

A few suggestions:
NatraBio Allergy Relief tablets (1 a day; a homeopathic formula that dissolves quickly in the mouth) -- our pediatrician recommended these and after about a week I saw a difference. Family Health Market on Preston Road in Frisco carries these.
Xlear nose spray for kids (also at Family Health Market) it has an elephant on the front and we call it a "nose hose". A squirt up each nostril night and day followed by a few nose blows and it has made a *tremendous* difference. Also at Family Health Market.
Sambucus brand Elderberry Syrup (at Whole Foods; other health stores as well) -- comes in a raspberry flavor -- this is a powerful immune enhancer. I give my 5-year-old son 1 tsp a day for a while and then take a break of a few days. 2tsp. if necessary as we come into cold and flu season.
So those are a few relatively inexpensive solutions to get the ball rolling while you look for alternatives to her current level of medication. Are you working with a holistically oriented pediatrician? We see Dr. Bain and her assistant at Healthy Kids Pediatrics in Frisco.
I would also recommend: A HEPA air filter for her bedroom (try Sears for these).
Dr. Steve Homoky for NAET (my MD recommended NAET) he's in Plano).
Dr. Alex Bekker for Homeopathy (he's in Dallas).
Also, the book Super Immunity for Kids by Leo Galland has been helpful to us. Magnesium supplements (like Natural Calm, available at Whole Foods) along with cod liver oil/essential fatty acids have been very helpful. You could start to implement the supplements/Xlear, HEPA filter, and nutritional changes and then go from there.
