Are there any art classes for a four year old interested in taking an art class (Springfield/Burke, VA area)?

What can I do next?

C.,
I agree with megan. Google, park takes VA. The FFX County rec centers offer great art classes also check out Gymboree in Springfield. A little pricoey but the art classes are small. Also check out www.our-kids.com a GREAT resources for moms in the northern VA area.
Good Luck,

C., this suggestion will take you out of your way, but truly the best art classes in the whole area for children are taught through the Torpedo Factory in Old Town (Art League School): http://www.torpedofactory.org/galleries/artleague.htm

Definitely more expensive than, say, the YMCA classes, and such --but worth every penny, in my opinion. I was really sick of sending my daughter to toddler art classes where all the kids ever did was glue macaroni to a paper plate, or copy some dippy craft project that the teacher did first.

The Art League classes for little ones cover a variety of mediums, and the children actually learn about the mechanics of art (shading, perspective, etc). If I remember right, I think the lit says that you need to be five, but I know my daughter started taking them when she was four...so I don't think they're too strict about that. The stuff she made in that class was amazing!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. We've been taking classes there for years.

You could check the Fairfax county govt. site. They should have a parks/recreation section that would list things. There should be some types of classes or craft time at the park.
