How are you kicking off preseason tonight? I'm thinking a nap and then chips and salsa with some cold beer. Go Cowboys

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Cowboys Win! That's nice. Also nice....Tebow didn't embarass himself. I felt so bad the way the announcers were ragging on him for his accuracy in practice. He threw 6 for 7, that's pretty good.

Football season is so much fun around here!
We are mostly college fooball fans here but I like to watch my favorite college players after they get in the NFL as well so I don't claim an NFL team.
But . . .
Roll Tide
Go Hokies!! ( that's for DH)

ETA , oh and I manage our fantasy team , its fun especially when I'm one step ahead on getting the player someone else also wanted

ETA: WOW, 2 of the answers on here are awfully serious and.....kinda funny, lol. In an effort to refrain from getting overly serious on a question that asked about how you're gonna watch the game and what I would take to be "Pj's or jerseys? Nachos or wings?" more than sociology, greed, role models, or the world's "imminent demise" (ha).....I'll just say this: we actually try to celebrate all kinds of things! (family meteor shower party with nap mats, lawn chairs, blankets, hot cocoa, and homemade star shaped cookies with uncles, grandma, all of us....together laying out on the levee waiting to make wishes....and sports are just another excuse for having some fun and building memories! Pass the salsa please).

Wow! That snuck up on me....Hmm. We always knew when we were in DFW, lol.....not that a Cowboy fan would ever let you forget. :P
We'll have a little "man party" when regular season kicks off (Thursdays aren't good days for us). Give me some ideas women! I don't want to go all out for kicking off the season since I do go all out for Super Bowl, but I'm thinking my husband can have some Boddingtons or Fat Tire, I'll have a daquiri or fuzzy navel (it's still hot), and I'll make a pizza and buy some wings. Or some tacos and nachos.
For Superbowl, we'll have a proper little party, regardless of who plays. (If it's a team we are really rooting for, it'll be more game.....the less we care about the teams, it'll be more party.....either way, a win).

I have finally come to the conclusion that football and most professional sports are a form of "bread and circus" . . . i.e., the tool that is used to keep us distracted from what is really going on around us.

And I'm formerly a huge Colts fan (have been for many years).

Just don't care anymore. Focused on making and saving money, and getting my family in the best position possible before our way of life completely falls apart. I no longer have any faith that government can do it.

PS: Sorry for my downer answer - it's honestly how I feel. Hope you have fun with it though!

Well, the whole lockout thing really pissed me off. So, I'm kind of feeling like.....

It's our fault. We continue to go to the games and pay the high prices (for any pro sport) and the players continue to act like prima donnas and the owners get richer and richer......... and it's just a GAME, for crying out loud. A game. That's all it is. Our children play these same games. No, they aren't as good at it. Yet. But it's still fun to watch. So they are playing the same games as our children, and just because they're better at it, we're paying them millions of dollars a year??!! What is wrong with us?

Why did we (the public) ever let it get this far? Why didn't we just say no? No, I'm not going to pay 8.50 for a beer, or 25. to sit in the nose bleeds, or 5. for a hot dog.

These men are making millions of dollars for playing a freakin' GAME!

SIGH With that being said.......... I love the game of football, and I love my Brownies. (but if anyone would ever join a boycott, I would do it!)

While I will admit that a part of me was hoping they wouldn't get the labor issues resolved and my Packers would get to be champs for another year, :) I'm glad that there will be football this fall. However, I'm not big on the preseason for any sport, so I will wait for the regular season opener.
Enjoy your evening!
