Are You Looking Forward to Having Your Kids Home for the Summer?

I can't wait until the last day of school. My two older children have 15 days until summer..hooray!! The first of summer I sent out an evite for "A build your boat and have a race contest" Winner gets a container of chocolate chip cookies. We are going to race the boats on a local stream..the water is slightly above my ankle.
My kids like having a camping in the family room the first night of the summer. We like going to the community pool and free summer concerts. We play manhunt and invite all their friends to join us. We enjoy lots of water fights. WE CAN"T WAIT until summer!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

We continue to be excited. My kids are fairly young still my oldest is 10 1/2yrs and is just finishing fourth grade. My middle son is 6 yrs and attends afternoon kindergarten. My daughter finished morning nursery school and is very outgoing she is 4 yrs old. I feel don't want to miss the opportunily to do things with my kids. That is one of my favorite things to do.

Great big giant hugs!!!

We homeschool... so have kiddo year round... and it just puts a huge grin on my face whenever I hear away-school parents excited about having their kids!!! Yay :) :) :) (Don't get me wrong, we ALL have lobotomy days)... but all I've been hearing lately IRL is how ticked people are that summer is on it's way and they're going to have to "deal" with their kids.

And *I'M* SUPER excited about kiddo's friends being off for the summer. Sleepovers and marshmallows and swimming and biking and long lazy days... sand castles and brunches and watermellon. No shoes, and no shirts, and side walk chalk, and forts. Back yard campouts, and stargazing, and facepaint. "Summer time, and the living is eeeeasy" :)

Hip Hip Hooray!!!

No mine have been out since may 21 and I can't wait for school to start back.

Oh boy. This summer I have my oldest son getting his driver's license and my youngest son getting his permit. Yes, that's right, they are both boys. Oh boy. I may not have any hair left after this summer. I am happy about summer vacation this year, though, because I do love the ages they are at and they had been spending summers with their father out of state. Their friends are here a lot and they have a good time. We love to go to movies, pools, mini put, water parks, fishing, picnics, and may try camping this year. I am just happy that they are going to be around this summer, as it got very quiet and lonely here without them while they left for the summer. I am glad to enjoy it, because at ages 15 and 16 there are not too many summers left with them at home :(.

I love when school gets out! I love having my son home since my older ones have moved. I have always loved when summer finally came.

We start it by going to the beach, going to our best friends pool. We have cookouts for lunch at friends houses and ours. He gets to sleep in a little bit. I love it! We also camp on our deck.......to dangerous on our lawn since we live in the woods!!!

Wish we lived near you. My son does go to Camp Christopher each summer for 2 weeks in bath/akron ohio. Your summer sounds like a blast.

I love summer! Less craziness too! We just put up a pool as well. YEAH!

Yes, we are all ready for summer around here. We'll have one week to go visit a college and then their busy summer starts!
He's got an honor band, music camp, chemistry camp, and volunteering with the mentally disabled. She's got music camp and volunteering as well as sleepovers with friends planned. That only gets us to the end of July. In August they will both be off to band camp (Mr. and I get to go with them so that's our family vacation!) -- and then school starts.
Summer is short, but they fill every minute with good things. They are excited to see their summer friends.
As for me? Well, I rev up the washer and get ready for less than 24 hours turn around time between camps. It's a challenge, but it's fun. They tell us everything that happened while they were away while I wash, fold, and help them repack their trunks and Mr. cooks their favorite meal.
We relish every minute we can sleep in. I shovel out their rooms while they are gone and make a trip or two to salvation army to make donations. We eat what we want and spend time as a couple. We consider it practice for when they go off to college.
YMMV

We're SUPER excited about summer. We leave for Hawaii for 2 weeks as soon as school is out!

Another thing I look forward to is days in our pool, spending time at the beach and Movie nights at the park.

Summer is way too short IMO so we try to squeeze as much fun in as we can =-)

Sounds like you have a fun summer planned too!
