Are Vitamins Really Necessary for a Toddler?

I have a two year old. He does not take vitamins. What do you think?
Should a toddler take vitamins? Is it really necessary or all hype?
If you think it is necessary...What kind would you recommend, why and where do you get them? We are trying to cut corners financially but is this where they should be cut?

What can I do next?

most people -- adults and children do not need vitamins. as long as they eat a decent diet.

does your child eat a variety of foods?? maybe not all in one day but over a couple of day or a week??

if he eats fairly well he probably does not need a vitamin.

my 2 year old does not take vitamins. I take vitamins because I am nursing.

my 8 month old takes vitamin drops for the vitamin D and the flouride that are not in breast milk. once he switches to cows milk and water.. he will not get vitamins.

Absolutely! It's pretty rare that anyone gets all of the nutrients that they need without a multivitamin.

See "Might-a-mins" on my web site at (click on the demo!)www.marketamerica.com/thevoiceoftruth for an outstanding option. They are Isotonix (which means your child can drink them) and they are 95% absorbed in 5-10 minutes. My son takes them and is a very healthy boy!

You can also look at options for yourself and/or take a FREE Nutra-Physical at my site. It will let you know positively where you might want to add supplementation or make changes in your family's diets.

Have fun!

Hi S.

Understanding the need for cutting corners, I think you should give your toddler vitamins. Check with your Pediatrician as to which one he or she recommends.

Hi S.,
All of my children took/take vitamins daily. Just plain old Flintstone Complete Vitamins.
They take 1/2 a vitamin until age 3, than a whole. Do they need them? Who knows.
The doctor recommends them. Of course kids never eat enough veggies, so I think
it can't hurt.
I take vitamins daily myself. A Women's One a Day as well as a Calcium supplement. On days I don't take them, I can tell, I am more tired.
I believe a 100 count of Flintstone Vit run about $10 depending on where you get them. We get ours at Meijer.

A little about me:
I am a 44 year old sahm of three. (age 9,7,3)

Yes. Even at 2 due to relatives and friends, McDonald, chuck e cheese birthday parties are not providing our youth with complete nutrition. The reason people in Asia have such strong health when they are older is that they learn to supplement from the age of 2. Our bodies need a complete set of trace minerals and antioxidants in order to prevent joint problems, clear brain cells and avoid degentrative disease.

Pharmanex products are number one with supplement watch and the product of the US Olympic team which means the fields where they grow their products are subject to random soil testing and that way you know the products you are taking are always quality and safe.

They make a jugmungal for children. You can go to
www.totalhealthsolutions.mypharmanex.com and order them on the adr program for wholesale prices. You can change your order anytime.

My daughter takes Vitamins and she's almost 4, she's been taking them since about age 2. We just buy the Target brand "gummi" bear vitamins. She LOVES them, she reminds me to give them to her every day. They are also inexpensive!

Hi there S.. I would like to share and say YES! All of us need vitamins and starting at such an early age to get all of the requirements are body needs but we are not getting, makes for a healthier and happier body and person.

I too belive in saving $ where they need or can be saved.Yet, dont think this is one place. I am currently using vitamins for our whole family and looking for a good vitamin can be confusing. I use the Arbonne supplents. They are certified Vegan, cold pressed and are standardized. All of their products are pure, safe and beneficial for you and your family from the inside and out.

It would be my privilege to share more info with you...I purchase all of ARbonne's products at wholesale, which is 35% off of retail. You can check out any of their products at:www.ritaotto.myarbonne.com
