Are There Any Good Mom Groups in Tucson?

Hi,
My husband is in the Military and is gone a lot. I am a SAHM to a 3 year old girl and an 11 month old boy. I love my kids VERY much, but I am not ashamed to admit that staying home all day is incredibly difficult for me at times. However, this is what I plan to do until my son is in school. Does anyone know of any Mom's group out there? I would love to meet other Mom's who just want someone to hang out with every now and then along with our kids. I grew up here but moved when I was 16 and now I have moved back (I am 30...EEK!) so I don't know anyone here anymore and while I love my husband, it is not the same as talking to a girlfriend!!
Any thoughts? If not, I would love to start a Mom's group that meets maybe once a week somewhere.

YES! I am actually the co director for a great moms group in Tucson! It's called Tucson Moms. Go to www.tucsonmoms.com to check us out. We have weekly playgroups all over town geared towards whatever ages your kids are. We've been around over 8 years, so we are very established and boast over 400 members a year. So you're bound to meet other moms!
With each playgroup, there is a monthly moms night out (a much needed thing). Also, there are 2 major totally free family events a year. This year, we had one movie night in the park, are planning a second movie night and a huge picnic where extended family is also invited. At the picnic, there are horse drawn wagon rides, balloon artist, music and tons more all for free!
We also have 2 Tucson Moms Night Outs. EVERY one is invited, so we tend to have over 50 moms come to those. We already had one this year, but our next one is August 23 at PF Cheng's. We eat and have a good time. Then, for those daring enough, we offer discounted rates to spend the night at La Paloma with the girls! Lots of moms really get into it and get a massage!
We also have a monthly newsletter which has tons of great information. There are also ways to get involved since we do some community involvement work and have a board.
Right now, it is $38/year. However, if you wanted to wait till August 15, our rates drop to 1/2 year rates which is $19 till February, then you'd need to renew your membership in February for the $38.
Glad you asked! If you have any more questions, you can email me (N.) at ____@____.com, and we have lots of military moms just like you, so there is a lot of support!
Oh, and we also offer scholarships, so don't feel you can't join do to financial reasons. We never want money to come in the way of moms meeting other moms!

I have been part of Tucson Mom's for three years now. My son is four and this is the best, there are groups of mom's that are all over town that you can try and see which one is good for you. Go to Tucsonmoms.com, and you'll find your part of town and the year your little girl was born, I'm part of NW04. Every week there is something new to do such as MY GYM, touring a ice cream shop, swimming etc. It's been the best experience ever, the mommy's are great!
