Aquaphor in Child's Hair
My daughter put Aquaphor in her hair. I've washed it with baby shampoo, but it doesn't come out. Anyone know how to get a petroleum jelly based product out of hair?

So What Happened?™
Thanks everyone for the help. I didn't have Dawn, but I used another brand of dishwashing soap and it worked.

It's funny you wrote about this - I thought I was the only one with a two year old who does that! :)
Recently my daughter absolutely slathered herself and her hair with Vaseline and after repeated shampoo applications I found it just beads off. We tried applying baby oil because it's a thinner lubricant and it seemed to work after a couple of applications. Mind you her hair was a bit oily, but it wasn't as thickly coated as before, so I brushed baby powder through her hair to control the oil and after a day with that in her hair and another shampoo, it was back to normal.
Hope this helps!

Dawn or other dishsoaps work quite well. Also any "adult" shampoo will work 100% better than any baby shampoo. Good luck!

Dawn dishwashing soap !!!
Just like on the commercial it get's the grease out..
Every once in awhile I will wash my hair or my daughters hair with it it get's all the product and build up out and makes a huge difference. I did my daughters hair this summer I forget why- I think she got something in at my dad's house and needed a quick wash in the kitchen sink anyways but her hair looked lighter in color and was really really clean. But it's not as moisturizing as regular shampoo so it's not something I do on a regular basis.

My daughter put vaseline in her hair. I used an adult clafiying shampoo and had to wash it several times, but it worked. Good luck:) Can't turn your back for a minute huh? That's how my house is. LOL!

I would say try using Dawn dish soap, it should cut the grease and such! Hey if it works for oil spills should work for petroleum jelly!

If you haven't already done the Dawn thing, which sounds like it should work, you can try baby powder. As long as theres not enough aquophor in her hair like huge gobs, just greasy? Comb baby powder through it to absorb the oil, that wash with a regular adult shampoo.

try dawn. Be careful not to get it in her eyes.
