Anyone Want to Start a Weight Loss Support Group???

Hello mamas -
I know I'm not the only one with this problem, it just seems like it. My son will be one year old on Tuesday and I am still carrying around almost 30 lbs. of extra baby weight. I have always had difficulty losing weight unless I really exercise and eat carefully, and it is even more so now after two little ones. I just cannot seem to get motivated, or I'll start out strong and slowly backslide. Does anyone want to start an online support group where we check in once a week or so? Maybe we don't have to give weights, just let everyone know how we're doing?

What can I do next?

It sounds like we have a good little group interested here. I don't know how to message everyone short of sending each individual a message. I hope everyone gets this update, I don't know how these work, if you get a notification that I updated or not.
I guess the best thing to do would be to get everyone's email (if you want to give it - I promise I won't spam you =) and we can go from there. My hubby and I are starting Body for Life tomorrow, I have had great success with that program. I just quit WW b/c I honestly was not committed and found every excuse why I could not attend meetings, even though there were about 10 I could go to. I mostly stopped going b/c I did not want to feel like a loser (no pun intended) when I weighed in.
Let me know what you guys think, someone mentioned food and exercise logs???
Thanks,
Martha

Count me in Martha. I started Weight Watchers 7 weeks ago and am down 11.8 pounds. I am 5'3" and still have about 50+ pounds to lose! I could use the support too! Great idea.

I think it's a great idea! I'm in! Since day one of pregnancy with my third daughter it has been a struggle both physically and mentally. She is now 1 yr old and its time for the weight to come off. I am only almost 5' tall and need to lose about 35 lbs. Any motivation would be great!

that sounds great! im having my baby this november, and i really want to get back into shape afterwards! I know I tend to make big plans and then get lazy, so it would be great to have some support ;) My husband is in Iraq (army) and sometimes its easy to get depressed and not do anything, but then I berate myself for not doing anything lol. so this would be great motivation!

Count me in. I want to be at my goal weight by my birthday...April 16, 2008. I started Weight Watchers about a month ago and I am about 6 pounds down. Not great, but at least it's a start. I need to incorporate exercise in my routine and I know I will loose more.

Count me in. I peaked at 263 at the end of my pregnancy when I had my second and went down with WW and some exercise. 2 1/2 yrs later I am down to 175. I love it but still need to lose more about 30-40 more is my goal weight.
I started my new job at Children's and Love it but need to have the motivation to work out on my days off since I work 12 hr shifts, 7am-7:30pm. I work anywhere from 3-6 days a week. I have been divorced for almost a year and a half and ready to be back in the dating scene again.
I haven't weight this in years, at least 10 yrs.
I mainly need help making good choices on my eating and excercise. I need help with my hips and abs( I had a c-section)

I AM SOOOO ALL OVER THIS. I am recently married, mother of a 6 year old and Im still carrying around "baby fat" from my daughter - LOL - ok, ok, maybe I added some of that fat on to what I gained when I was pregnant. I did notice that right before I got married that I gained 15 extra pounds from stress eating and I want to be able to run with my child and teach her how to do a cartwheel without my left breast smacking me in the chin!! So yeah - Im in!!

Sounds great! We are going on vacation at the end of the month and I would really like to lose 5-8 pounds before then, but I need someone to help hold me accountable. How should we go about this?

COUNT ME IN!!!! I've always been big in stature-5'9-180 when I got married and I looked decent if you ask me. Now 6 years after getting married and with 2 kids in that time...I'm now at at teetering at 250lbs. My last pregnancy a year ago I almost got to 280! Never again!!! I need a support group as well. I noticed a lot of the other responses mentioned Weight Watchers and that's been the only meathod that has worked for me. I lost like 30+ lbs. a few years back on it and then gave up....need support!!

What a great idea!!!

Let me know how this will work...

Yes! I would love to. I never even got pregnant, but gained weight after adopting our daughter. I had a personal trainer and was doing pretty good. Then we got the call that we had been chosen to adopt our son. That was 4.5 months ago and I haven't worked out since he came home. My trainer had me bring my food log to her. Maybe we can work something out where we collect all the emails to chat about eating issues, good recipes, etc. Maybe we can buddy up with someone to submit (via email) food logs for the week. I find that if I have to show someone what I am eating I am more successful.

Sure I will. I joined LA Fitness about 1 month ago because of developing a heart problem related to high blood pressure and cholestrol. I have been doing really good exercising but am having trouble eating right and less. I will share weight. I weigh 225lbs and I am 48 years old.. I have lost about 5 lbs. and I know every pound counts.

I'm in! I was on Weight Watchers and then came number 2. Ever since then I have been at home and it has been one excuse after another. I am joining WW again on Monday at 10 am meeting in McKinney. Any support would be great. As I stand next to my husband (5'6" - 155 lbs) I feel like a big fat blob. My goal is January's family wedding. 20 pounds would be great. Count me in. Send me an email.
