Anyone Use an Egg Donor???

I will find out in a week if my fertility specialist is going to recommmend using an egg donor. We've been on a roller coaster with our fertility issues. My eggs too keep throwing us for a loop. I know this is a very personal matter. I'm just wanting to hear some success stories and/or any first hand information from those who have been through this.

What can I do next?

I was challenged in the fertility area too. 11 years later i had a baby girl even thught the docs said i would never have another child on my own!!! it's in g-ds hands!!! Keep the faith!

Hi L.,

although I did not use an egg donor, I just underwent in vitro, about a year ago and I have a beautiful 4 month baby girl thanks to the treatment, I too had issues with my eggs, I was 34 at the time and the first time we tried to get my eggs, I only got 2 eggs!!! needless to say the first time failed, however I tried to remain positive (which is close to impossible after all the shots and procedures) but I don't know how religious you are, but the book "Supernatural Childbirth" really got my spirit where it needed to be and the second time around I got 14 eggs and as I already told you it was successful!!! so don't give up, it's so hard to go through but so rewarding in the end! my prayers are with you and remember that stress is a huge factor, so the more relaxed you can remain the better, massages are nice, but also remove yourself from stressful situations and people, don't even watch the news, it really helps!!
Good luck!!

I know someone who used an egg donor with great success. She was pregnant with twins and lost one early on in the pregnancy, but she now has an awesome little girl

I used an egg donor and after years of misery I now have a 5 1/2 month old beautiful baby boy.
It was the hardest decision and the whole process was incredibly challenging. Having said that, looking at my miracle, I would do it all over again. Trust me, once you feel that baby move in your body, you will forget that it is from an egg donor. People often tell me he looks like me and I forget that
I even used a donor. Just remember, that this embryo wouldnt survive if it were not in your womb. You are the one providing life!
I hope this helps you

Hi, im going to tell you about my experience as the donor, i have had friends that couldnt use their eggs for certain reasons, so they asked if they could use mine. I also had some eggs stored and then sold them, due to the fact that i already had the kids i wanted........but it was a wonderful experience from my end, as soon as i got the call that they were pregnant i was so thrilled here they were with my help now going to live their dream of becoming a family! i went through the process with one friend and she had many challenges on her part to get through, its not all fun but in the end youll love the outcome that getting there didnt matter :-) im now in the process of carrying a child for a friend (who cant carry but her eggs are great) i wish you all the luck in the world, god will bless you with a child just be patient with the process......if you ever need to talk im here!

YES! We had issues as well an were told if I used my eggs i would have a 10 - 15% chance of success and if we used an egg donor we would have an 85% chance. We now have a beautiful, smart and funny 2 year old little girl! I would me more than happy to talk to you about this. it was a wonderful experience for us. ###-###-####.
