Anyone Tried "Kimkins"?
Has anyone tried the "Kimkins" diet? It was recently featured in Woman's Day magazine. It seems reasonable but to join on-line it's $60 (lifetime memebership), certainly cheaper than a lot of other ones out there. But if it doesn't work I don't want to spend any money!!! I'm really struggling with my weight and my 20th Class Reunion is at the end of the month. Any advice -good or bad- about Kimkins would be appreciated.

Hi K.. I haven't heard of the Kimkims diet, but I wanted to let you know I have all natural and botanical products that can help you reach your weight loss goals. I am a consultant with Arbonne, and I know the products work if you follow the system. We have all natural detox products, natural metabolism boosters (no starches, sugars, artificial anything, etc).....we also have a seperate website dedicated to helping you stick with the program and reaching your goals. If you would like more info please let me know. Good luck to you....

I don't know how healthy all these diets are for you i know that losing a lot of weight fast is extremely bad and dangerous. I also know that diets suck once you go off you gain back all the weight then some. It has to be a way of life something you are willing to do for the rest of your life and there is not and good quick lose as for as i know. I would do two things or just pick one. First talk to your doctor about what diets are good for you. I tried to talk to mine but he wasn't very helpful he is a cranky old man. The other is talk to someone in a store like GNC. The GNC in Bensalem the Brookwood shopping center is very knowledgeable and can help you find a diet plan that will work for you. I speak with Jesse the new manager he is very nice and helpful He didn't know that answer to one of my questions he asked me to come back again and he would have an answer and he did. He did not pressure me to buy anything right then and there with out having all the info i needed. Give him a try i know you need a good balance of foods to lose weight healthily.

Okay, I haven't tried it, but I cannot imagine having to pay anything to learn about it. This is what I found online:
"A woman, Kim, tweaked the Atkin's Diet to work more effectively and faster. (Kim + Atkin's = Kimkin's.) It is a hugely popular diet among people who are having difficulty losing with Atkin's, so I thought of you. Here it is:
KIMKINS DIET:
Up to 20 total carbs (not net)
Up to 3 cups salad type veggies 'or' Up to 2 cups salad veggies and 1/2 'cooked'
70-90 LEAN protein grams
No Low-carb products, treats, junk (pepperoni, pork rinds, protein bars) Bigtime stallers!!
NO alcohol
Just enough fat to make your menu work (don't overdo)

Kim also has a 3-5 day diet that is very strict, but known to cause quick and substantial weight loss and is a great jumpstart for the Kimkin's Diet/Low-carb diet. Here it is:
KIMMER'S 3-DAY EXPERIMENT:
As much lean protein as you desire-ONLY LEAN MEATS AND EGGS
Length of time is 3-5 days
Purpose is to experience 'real' ketosis (weight loss, no appetite)
Useful as springboard for other Low-carb programs
NO alcohol, No cheese, NO low-carb products, NO LC junk (pepperoni, pork rinds)
Basic condiments and spices OK (watch catsup and A1 sauce)
Very minimal use of fats (butter, oil, mayo) Less fat = faster weight loss"

Good luck!! By the way, lo carb may not be for everyone, but I once lost 30 lbs. doing it for about 4 months. I went off it and gained it allll back.

Hi K.!
To lose weight quickly, I always do a detox diet.
I eat only fruits, almonds, and veggies. There is a detox diet called the master cleanse and I use the detox drink from that:
2 tbsp. maple syrup (grade B if poss, but we use grade A too)
2 tbsp. fresh squeezed lemon (sometimes, in a pinch i use lemon juice)
and a dash of cayenne pepper.
I know it sounds like a disgusting combination, but it is actually good! You can drink as many as you want in a day. I usually make some when i get hungry for a snack!
For my "regular" diet, i drink the detox tea from Arbonne, along with drinking their shakes, and eating their weight loss chews.
Good luck!
