Anyone Know of Good Software for Keeping Your Checkbook?
I used Quicken then switched to Microsoft Money.....MM has been discontinued and now I am just looking to have a simple (hopefully free) download for checkbook software...any suggestions out there?

Why don't you use your online banking options...some of them are amazing! Like Wells Fargo, for instance.

Dave Ramsey has some great budgeting tools, including balancing your checkbook, at his website daveramsey.com. My husband and I are also taking his 13 week Financial Peace University class and it has been the best thing not only for our finances, but also for our marriage. Check it out!

Hi S.,
For years, I have been a MM user and then my computer I had on it died. Took the thing in to get it fixed and cannot be so I had a data backup done. But, to the point, I had to get something for my laptop so I could keep track of things. I found a free register that I was able to download from www.PracticalSpreadsheets.com. It is Excel and you can customize it yourself if you are familiar with excel. I like it a lot and have learned new excel tricks as well! If you know the program, you can add pivot tables and charts to your liking. If you are not an excel user, this might not be the program for you as it might be hard to set up to your specifications. But if you are like I am, then this is easy and fast (and can be backed up easily on a zip drive or RW CD.
Good luck!
L.
ps, also, I forgot - if you have Microsoft Access on your computer, there is a financial program template that is on there if you want to check out - it might be what you need and you wont have to go far to get anything else. It wasn't for me but if you have it, maybe you will like it.

Try Moneydance.com. I was a MM user as well and decided to switch when I moved over to a Mac. I've been incredibly happy with it. You can still connect to your bank and balance your account with it. I believe it's a free program too!

i just use a check register software that works with Excel and keeps track of your account. Just go to Microsoft downloads.
