Anyone Know How to Find a Tutor?

What area of town do you live.

I have a friend that was teaching in the Edina and Bloomington school district. She building her own tutoring and teaching french to private parties. She lives in Bloomington, though I don't know that she would be expecting to teach from her home, but I would think you both would want to be within reasonable proximity.

Check w/ neighbors, school, church and local community. A high school student would be great!

Depending on your area I may be able to help. I taught for 7 years, have a M.A. in Education, and have been a private tutor for the past 4 years. I will tutor in Eden Prairie and the surrounding neighborhoods and charge $30 an hour. You can also look into Club Z. This is a tutoring service that provides one-on-one in home tutoring. Each franchise is individually owned so prices will vary, but most of them charge about $40 an hour and require a 2 hour per week minimum. There is no contract to sign with them and you pay month to month. They also have a large pool of tutors so if you don't like the first one you can always try a new one. They are also really good at matching up tutors with students. At your initial consultation they find out the student's needs and personality and try to find a match. Good luck!
