My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost a year now. I had been on birth control pills for 15 yrs prior to this. In the 1st 6 mon that I had been off the pill, I only had a period twice. Went back to the doctor & had some tests run. Since I obviously can have a cycle on my own, he put me on a cylce of Provera & Clomid. Everyone I talked to talked about how great Clomid had been for them or someone they knew. Well, didn't do anything for me but give me hot flashes. Went back to the doc and he told me my FSH & LH levels are 7 to 1 & they are supposed to be 3 to 1. :( He doesn't believe the Clomid will work for me & wants me to see a fertility specialist to see what they can do to get my hormones back on track. I was given information about a Dr. Schnell w/ the Center of Reproductive Medicine. Does anyone have any info on her or any suggestions of a good doctor in the Beaumont/Houston area? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

I would highly recommend Dr. Grunert in Houston. Here is a link to his site..http://www.obgynassociates.com/grunert.html.

I know exactly what you are going through...we tried for 2 years...and used clomid with no luck. At age 32, I went to Dr. Grunert and was pregnant within 3 months. He is wonderful, compassionate and most importantly, he is accessible. When you have an appointment, you will ALWAYS see him. My sister-in-law went to Schnell and the biggest negative is that she is very busy and you usually see her staff and not her during appointments. This can be frustrating when you have lots of questions and/or concerns.

Wishing you the very best...

Try Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith in Houston. She is located in the medical center across Fannin from Memorial Hermann Hospital. Her phone number is ###-###-####. If she don't do it herself, then she can recommend a great Dr. I know she does some stuff, but maybe not the in depth stuff, but she is one of the best doctors in the Houston area. Doctors go to her, which says alot to me. I trust her completely, no questions asked, I've been going to her since I was a teen, about 15 to 20 years, she delivered all 3 of my babies. I absolutely love her.

Hope this helps, Good Luck.

Mary
