Anyone Interested in Selling Their Used Britax Marathon Car Seat?

Please don't buy a used car seat, it just isn't safe. If you buy a new Marathon then you will get to use it for the full shelf life, rather than buying a used one that is a few years old and will only be able to get a year or two of use out of. Plus, buying a brand new seat guarantees that you know the history of the seat, and when buying a used one there is *no* way you can be absolutely sure that the seat wasn't in a crash or anything, you would be basically putting your son's life in the hands of a stranger and their word.

Babies R Us often has coupons for 15 or 20% off one item, and you can use those on car seats. Also, Albee Baby often has Marathon's on sale and their seats are usually fresh from Britax, usually made within a month of when you ordered it, which is AWESOME because then you get one of the seats that rear faces to the new limit of 35lbs :-)

As for the Marathons, I JUST purchased a new one on EBAY yesterday for my 10 month old. It was $50 under retail and that included shipping. I saw a used one though in really good condition that wasn't too expensive just yet. I was keeping my eye on it until I won the other one. That auction ends in about 3 days and here is the link:

We have a Britax and love it. I'm sorry, I didn't read your request very well before I decided to reply. We're using ours and aren't ready to get rid of it yet. We do highly recommend the brand.

My daughter had outgrown her infant carrier by 10 WEEKS (she was well over 20+ lbs)!!! I luckily have an older son and we just passed down his old one but I can tell you that CRAIGS LIST is a GREAT spot for this sort of thing and they typically (for this area) have quite a bit of Britax, Also try a JBF (Just Between Friends)sale (consignment), there will be one this weekend in the Midcities and several more over the next couple of months throughout the metroplex- Just go to JBFsale.com

My son is 9 months old , he did outgrow his infant car seat when he was 7 months old. So we bought the Britax marathon car seat from Babies r us . I did have a 20% discount coupon at the time, You can check for coupons at Slickdeals.net.
Britax Car seat is rated as One of the best. My son is really comfortable in this car seat.

If you buy a used car seat, be very careful. Carseats should be replaced 5 years after the date of manufacture (the plastic starts to break down), and you do not want one that has been in an accident. Their safety could be compromised. Buying carseats used can be very dangerous for baby. I personally would do my best to buy a new one. I understand that they are expensive, though.

Sorry, I don't know anyone, but our son is also 8mos old and we just got him the Alpha Omega and it was 99.99 on the Babies R Us website and according to Consumer reports is in the top 3 of the safest and is he least expensive of them. My cousin also uses it for both of her boys. Welcome to TX.

We have a Britax seat but bought it 8 years ago so I'm sure you don't want that one.

Our son outgrew his infant carseat in height by 6 months and weight just after..had I known we wouldn't have spent all that money on a travel system!

Anyway we don't have one but keep an eye on Craigslist, I see them on there regularly.
