Anyone in Pre-menapause in Their Early 40'S Because of a Hysterectomy?

I had to have a complete hysterectomy three months ago and I've just started hormone patches due to onset of menapause. Any suggestions on night-sweats, hot-flashes, low libido or any help at all you can give?

What can I do next?

I used 2 patches at a time with my doctor's permission for years. That eliminated the symptoms.

Hi,

Went through something a little different, but the end result was the same symptoms. Doc told me to drink 8 oz of soy milk a day, it has a natural form of estrogen that helps with the symptoms. Lots of flavors to choose from!

Hi B.,
Menopause isn't nearly as wonderful as Oprah makes it sound!
I had my tubes and ovaries out when I was 39. I tried all different types of HRTs. Nothing worked. I did TONS of research. Then I went on Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy. Boy what a difference!!! I usually don't get on a soap box but I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful I feel. The BHRT is made in a clinical lab just for you. I'm not sure where you live but I go to a great clinical pharmacy in Leesburg. http://www.leesburgpharmacy.com/ I deal with Lisa Strucko. She is WONDERFUL!!!!! There is also a great book AGELESS, the naked truth about bioidentical hormones.
Call Lisa in Leesburg and she will be more than happy to help you. Give it a try and the only hot flashes you will have is from great sex!!

Many folks find the herb, black cohash, helpful in preventing hot flashes.
Good luck,

I had a hysterectomy at the age of 29; menopause kicked in very early. Hot flashes...stay away from the spicy foods...

Hi,
I read about Dr. John Lee and his work with natural Progesteron cream. He has several books available and some tapes. You can buy the cream in a Health Food store that sells alternative meds. It really works well on hot flashes and other symptoms.

Christiane Northrup also writes about Progesterone Cream. She has several books on Perimenopause and Menopause that are good reading. They can be found in the usual bookstores or library.

Good luck.

Check out this web site: www.hystersisters.com . It's free and you can get advice and suggestions from many many women who have been through the same thing!

Good luck!
