Anyone Heard of 3 Day Potty Training Method?

HI! I was wondering if anyone out there had every heard of the 3 day potty training method? I found a link to it off the Pampers website and have been getting numerous emails about this ebook that you buy and download. Im skeptical about anything that I can't see before I buy, but was wondering if anyone had ever tried it. I want to start seriously working with my 30 month old and would love to do it as quickly and painlessly as possible but not sure if salty foods and sweet drinks are how I want to proceed. Thanks for any help!

This book is great: Toilet training in less than a day by Nathan H. Azrin and Richard M. Foxx

This book was originally written many years ago... all the "new" popular methods are spinoffs of this book. It is amazing. We used it with my daughter and not my son. She doesn't so much as get a spot of pee on her panties... I wish we had used this method with my son. Good luck! T.

I used the book Potty Training in a Day. It worked great for me for both kids. They never even wet the bed. You have to be committed, but it totally works, and fast!

There's a book out there called "Toilet Training in Less than a Day" by Nathan H. Azrin and Richard M. Foxx. I've done it with my three boys and I love it. It's intense and at times a bit hard (you're totally focused one-on-one with your child all day - not just for an hour or two, but ALL day!) But, it works great, in my book! It really can be done - my sis. has done it with her four children, too. Good luck.

never heard of the 3 day approach, but...have recently heard of the potty watch. It's a plastic watch that the child can wear that is set to go off every 30 or 60 or 90 min(you set it)and it plays the little potty song. Mainly just a reminder for the child to go sit on the potty and TRY to go. It seems to be working for alot of parents and children both. It's hard to remember to take the little one to the bathroom at a consistant time frame every day as we tend to get distracted by everyday life things. The phone, the doorbell etc... Maybe this idea will help..best of luck., S.

I used a method called "3 days and 50 bucks" :-) Potty train in 3 days (OK, with my 2nd it was closer to a week) by letting them run around with nothing on their bottom half. Give them lots to drink and take them to the potty every 15 minutes in the beginning, then slowly work the time up. If they're doing OK with that then you can put underwear on them. By the end of the time you should be able to put pants on them. Then the $50 is for cleaning your carpet when it's all said and done!

They do need to clean up any messes they make (as much as possible anyway). It worked with my two boys, so in a couple of years I'll see how it works with my daughter! HTH!

I have a friend who did this and said it worked great.
The trick is you need to dedicate 3 dyas or a weekend to do it and all you do is take them to potty every 1/2 hour after giving them lots of juice and water to drink. after the 3rd day she said her little one was going in the bathroom and going potty by herself. The trick is all your attention needs to be on them for that time frame .
Good Luck! I will be trying is soon myself.

I haven't heard of that one, but we did "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day" by Nathan Azrin. We loved it and plan to do it with the next one. I have a friend who has done it with all five of her kids and several other friends who swear by it. It also used salties and sweets, but it worked like a charm. We took it a little slower, so it was 3 days, instead of one. GL!

First remember EVERY child is different. My daugther and my son both potty trained at the same time. My son was 3 and my daughter was 18 months. I spent one day training her with only one accident!! She even stayed dry at nights, with no accidents. My son seemed to take forever. Later I found out he needed medication for over active bladder. Give it time and talk with your pediatrician before starting something that affects their diet. Good luck!!

Honestly, I'm always amazed at the obsession with potty training....kids aren't dumb, they know exactly what they are supposed to do when it comes to going to the bathroom. Its a whole lot of steps to learn, a whole lot of emotional maturity involved, and a big step to becoming an independent child and leaving babyhood behind. Its no wonder some children decide that having the security of diapers means a lot to them and will resist 'training' until they are more emotionally mature.

Potty training is extremely fast if you have a child who is ready. For us, it was less than a day, but was entirely initiated by my daughter who announced 'no more diapers'. From that day out, no accidents, no diapers and she was ready for nighttime training within a week. Again, no accidents. I never pushed her and since I had a second baby to deal with, tried to put her off as much as possible since diapers are easier.

Remember, eliminating, like eating is entirely controlled by your child. Its not an area where you want to get into a power struggle. They will always win. Also, in my book, potty training is where the kids 'goes' when they need to, its not parent training where the kid is in underpants but you're the one dragging them to the toilet every hour coaxing them to go so they don't soil their pants.

As far as the three day program floating around on the internet, its a very harsh program designed for training toddlers at 22 months old. I'm not into berating my toddler for doing something natural like going to the bathroom. To each his own though.

I haven't heard of 3 day potty training but willing to tell you what worked for me. I potty trained my boys at 18 months. I had a portable potty (not as scarey as a big toliet) and offered 1 m&m just to sit on it at first. Then let them wear underware and get the feeling of freedom while running around the house. I reminded them every 20 mins (even set a timer) then sometimes I would find them doing it on their own. Big praise when you find something in the potty!!
