Anyone Have a Floor Vacuum/mop Product They Like?
Our entire ground floor is tile or pergo and I am looking at those machines that sweep and then scrub your floors. Between my baby and my big dog, I *really" need clean floors with as little hassle as possible. Can anyone recommend a product that works for them, or a product to absolutely not consider?

the hoover floormate is just the best. it does a great job on pergo and tile. since it washes and dries you can get a large space clean and dry in a short time. I've seen it online at walmart for $134, the cheapest. good luck.

i have the hoover floormate. it is not fantastic, but i feel it does a better job than mopping and is definately easier. i've had it for 3 years now and it still works fine, just not great.

We have hardwood in our house. We recently purchased the iRobot Roomba from Amazon. It was on sale on Amazon for $137 (i'm not sure if it's still on sale.) It is great. I turn it on just before I leave to take my girls to school, and when I come home, our living room and kitchen are nice and clean. I don't even have to worry about cleaning under furniture because it's small enough to do sweep underneath. And, the Roomba finds it home base and recharges itself. Now, I have more time for my kids. iRobot also has a new one called the Scooba that vacuums and mops your floor; of course, this is pricier. You might want to wait til they go on sale.

We just bought the Bissel Flip It from Home Depot. We have dark hardwoods and 2 dogs, so everything shows up on our floors. The "Flip It" vacuums and then mops the floors. It comes with an attachment for scrubbing tile. It is really amazing to see how dirty the water is when you dump it out----GROSS! It is pretty easy to use, but if your dog sheds like ours do, you need to rinse the filter out pretty often (like after each use). Good Luck

We just bought a "Shark" cordless vacuum. I have to say- I was hesitant b/c of the price- but it is the best money I EVER spent! We have 2 cats and 14 Month old twins so I use it all day long! I bought ours at Lowes and I think it was around $50. For mopping I use the clorox brand of disposable mop. It is much less expensive to refill than the swiffer. Hope this helps!!

Our entire downstairs is tile and hardwoods and I have had great luck with Murpheys Oil Soap squirt and mop cleaner. I also love the dry swiffer cloths.

If you don't mind -- can you let me know what people recommend... I'd like one just to have something to SCRUB the floors. My cousin had pergo and somehow if you let ANY water on them, they'd warp so be careful! :)

Hi J.,
I have pergo and tile floors as well. On my pergo, I use a cordless sweeper (Dirt Devil Quick Power) and a swiffer wetjet. I don't think you are supposed to use a "wet" mop on the pergo, so you might want to be careful of any machine that will squirt liquid on the pergo. It should be "damp" mopped so that the moisture doesn't get under the boards and warp them.
You might also check out the pergo website to see if they have any recommendations.
Hope that helps!
Sincerely,
H. L.
