My dog has suffered for years with allergies. Grain free foods/diet changes didn't help. To make a long story short, we finally stumbled upon an easy solution that I wanted to share and I hope you guys pass it on to others. Within 4 days of starting probiotics for dogs, she's a new dog!!! No more scratching, smelly dog. This was on the vets recommendation but I am astounded at the results and wanted to pass it along. Enjoy your day ladies!!

Benadryl worked just fine for my daughter's dog. Actually helped with some of the hyper too.

Our neighbors chocolate lab has allergies - pollen, bees and wasps.
She's on Benadryl often and it's working great for her.

It doesn't surprise me - most skin issues in dogs, as in humans, are really based in internal systems, and the gut is one of the biggest sources. Restoring balance, gentle/regular detoxing (not sudden cleanses), and other nutritional solutions often work better than medications which are only treating the symptom and not the cause. One vet didn't recommend probiotics and had us put our dog on Benadryl - I absolutely hated drugging her for a year, without enough benefits to justify it. We have used cellular nutrition and epigenetic superfoods to heal her up entirely - we worked in consultation with other dog owners and food scientists and didn't just do it without some real science behind what to give and how much - what I give my 17 pound terrier is not the same amount as one colleague gives her 160 pound mastiff for her bone cancer (which has now been stopped in its tracks).

I showed our new vet the labels, and she's thrilled with our dog's healing. Her fur was thinning too and is now grown in full and fluffy. I'll ask the vet about probiotics at our next visit although we seem to have the problem licked.

Glad it worked for you. I do think it's essential that people check with knowledgeable sources though, as you did - not everything that's safe for people is safe for dogs.

My dog had constant issues with his skin and ear infections, we simply switched to grain free food and all his issues went away. It turns out a lot of dogs have issues with grain because they can not digest it properly.
