Anyone Had a VBA2C Delivery?

I had 2 c-sections, but neither of them were done after my body had attempted natural labor on its own. The first was an emergency to get my baby out because he was strangling in the cord. The 2nd was after being induced at 40 weeks because my BP was getting too high to not deliver me. So, I have not had any vaginal births.

Has anyone out there been allowed to attempt another VBAC after having 2 c-sections and no vaginal deliveries?

What can I do next?

Hi Katie
I am in the (almost exact) possition as
you. I have been researching VBAC2 as well. My chiropractor is getting some information together for me as well on VBACs.
Here is an inspiring link I found while researching:

One thing I have also come to realize, is that I was never actually prepared for labor. I never did a Bradley class or the like. My body wasn't prepped. With my son, my first, I planned to use an epidural. I was induced and didn't experience anything "natural". With my second child, I was forced into a second csection at 39 weeks due to my
previous csection (still makes me angry). With this pregnancy, I plan to be an advocate for myself. I plan to find a midwife, of an MD (due to their restrictions), and I plan to go through a Bradley class to prep my
body.

If you have any questions or just want to
chat, feel free to contact me. I would also be willing to share any of the info I recieve on VBAC2 with you.

Good luck!!!

well, I hope this might help. I've had 3 births total. My first was a vaginal with help of forceps because of epidural then was induced with my second and had to have emergency c-section because his heart rate was dropping rapidly, they said probably due to the epidural. and now i have had my third baby she just turned eight months I was successfully able to have a vbac with her. My OB said the only reason was because there was enough time between births you have to give your self enough time with the uterine stiches and whatever else and also haveing a very healthy pregnancy. She was also born completely natural no epidural no local. He just kept telling my whole pregnancy that if i succsesfully wanted a natural birth i had to watch my weight gain be active healthy and that i should not get any anesthesia and things should go smoothly and they did!!! so it can be done I didn't have two c-sections but I had one. I dont think that would make a difference though. you can;t help some things i.e the cord. but high BP could be related to numerous things with pregnancy. Just watch what you eat and drink, do pregnancy exersizes and good luck. I hope everything works out

I have had a VBAC, and I know several women in the area who have had VBA2Cs. The most supportive hospital for VBA2C in the area seems to be Univ. Illinois Medical Center. I suggest you join the ICAN of Chicago group (this is the International Cesarean Awareness Network) or whatever your local ICAN group is (I don't know where Westmont is, but there is an ICAN of DuPage and an ICAN of Kane County as well). You will almost certainly be able to hook up with other women who have had VBA2Cs and get some advice about care providers, birth planning, etc.

Best of luck with your next birth! FYI, ICAN of Chicago is located here:

ICAN National, which has a directory of ICAN groups and lost of other good information is here:

I had an emergency c-sec too as my baby was breech and descending down my pelvis as the doctor was seeing if he could do a late aversion so I am attempting a VBAC when I get pregnant again. I recovered pretty quickly. Emotionally, I was a mess as I wanted to have a home birth. Stuff happens. I live in the North Jersey area and found a practice in the city that does VBACs. A lot of midwives I have talked to say that a VBAC is very possible. My aunt-in-law who is a doula says that VBACs are a big possibility as long you do not get induced. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore info.

Ive only had c sections, but i would think your dr may be concerned about rupturing your uterus during a natural birth. But maybe im wrong. You can ask about that and maybe there is no risk. Im not sure since i havent done it, but i would bring that up just to be safe. Good luck.
