Anyone Feeding Her Baby with Formula Wirhout Corn Syrup?

My baby is on Neocate formula because his gastro says he allergic to cows protein, he has a severe eczema and wheezing, he said it should go away in about 2 weeks, but I don't know why I have a feeling that is the corn syrup that he is allergic to, does anyone have any experience with corn syrup free formula?

If you want to make a change than do it. But I wanted to let you know that my daughter is also allergic to the cows protein and it did take about 2 weeks for all her symptoms to go away. It just takes awhile for everything to get out of her system.

If you are still producing any amount of breastmilk it may not be too late to induce lactation again. If he is allergic to milk proteing and has eczema and sounds like he has asthma too then human milk is necessary more than ever! I can't believe that your ped or GI doc hasn't mentioned this. I would try to start latching him on or finding someone to donate milk for your baby. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon.

Take him for NAET treatment so you can locate what his exact allergies are and eliminate them for life. Check out drfergang.com she is in Weston and provides a free consultation. Food allergies lead to all kinds of problems later on. Remember tummy time 4x a day for 30 mins each time to strengthen abdominal muscles and build a core.

If your gut feeling is saying it's the corn syrup then change his formula to one that does not have it in. I am from England and we don't use corn syrup in anything , it is in everything here!...I used formula for my first 2 kids who were born in England and we have no corn syrup in it. I even noticed the other day that corn syrup is in coca cola....it's a world wide product so why can't the recipe be the same world over?!!

My feelings are aligned with the other suggestion to try and get your milk production up and breast feed instead. Contact La Leche League and see if they can turn you on to some good suggestions. You can get a good pump and keep at it every day and it will get your milk to come back in. I don't know if this goes without saying but make sure you're not consuming any cow products either as it will go into your milk. Humans simply aren't intended to consume the milk of a cow because we're not cows.

There is a difference between corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup (more concentrated and more processed). I am not a particular fan of either, but corn syrup is a good source of calories in baby formula. While it could be corn syrup, it does take at least two weeks for cow's protein to clear from your system. If your baby is taking any other solids you need to clear the ingredients for any type of milk solids, casein, etc.

You will likely not find a formula that isn't based on corn syrup. That is the solids they use to base all formula's on.
If he's having issues with formula, look into breastmilk donation. Its likely the only thing you will find thats not synthetic, not based on corn syrup solids.

I have done a lot of research on this myself.. And it seems like the only option left for dairy/corn reaction is to make your own formula :-(

I'm shocked because one if the reasons why they say pop (cola, pepsi etc) is bad because they put corn syrup in it. What is it doing in formula?! For babies!! Unbelievable!
